Fair, and i agree, but i also think the gap between emmit and his backups was significantly greater than the gap between say Randle and Murray. I am NOT SAYING randle is murray, simply pointing out before this past year murray was a question mark as well as any back currently on the roster and for some of the same reasons, whereas Emmit was in a totally different situation.

I think that is easy to say but then again Murray ran for 1,800 yards and also produced in the passing game, what have any of the other 3 done? I'm not saying Murray is ES I am saying he had shown himself to be head and shoulders above Randle, Dunbar and Williams that is why the Cowboys trusted him to carry the load and not them. If Dallas was so impressed by Randle play or Dunbar they would have seen a lot more action than they did but that was not the case. McFadden I think is the best chance as a guy who is an all around RB but given how things went in Oakland it is hard to be overly confident that things will now be different for him.

I also think back to murray and if someone had said to us that he would run for 1800 yards at any point in his career, we would have laughed. Its absolutely talent on the runners part but i also feel its no coincidence it happened after adding the pieces they did on this line, and they just added one more which (fingers crossed) works out the way the last few have. I can understand the opinion of the backs being question marks i just dont see it being a position of weakness due to everything else going on with this offense.

I would never predict 1,800 for any RB, hell as great as ES was and the OL he played behind he never hit 1,800 yards. I have thought for a while that Murray was a very good RB and based it on anytime he was given a chance to handle the ball he did a good job. His 1st 2 season he produced but also ran into injury problems in 2013 he played 14 of the 16 game, he made the Pro bowl and rushed for 9 TD on the season. Last year he was giving the opportunity to have a lot more carries and in my view played great. What he did last year is not that easy, only 16 RB have gone over the 1,800 yard mark and there have been a lot of RB to play this game. OL deserves credit no doubt but looking at any of the RB who put up a season like Murray did can also credit their OL

Well, heres to hoping were having the same conversation about a successful Back/Running game this time next year. (And maybe a nice trophy to go along with it)

I agree, believe me I want SB as much as anyone. I hope someone steps up and proves they can be the man taking the majority of the snaps with another RB coming in to give the lead back a break through out the game.

I think OL is important, I also seen lesser backs behind great OL fail. ES ran behind a great OL yet when he was out of the lineup others were unable to fill the void and it cost the Cowboys games. Thankfully ES did not miss much time

Depends on who your others are.

I really think people are underestimating McFadden. It's amazing what a winning culture will do for some players. Look at the "Scrubs" New England picks up that turn in to valuable pieces. He has the talent, this might be the situation he needs to use it.

We will see, who knows that RB may not even be on the roster.

I believe we're too far along for that RB not to be on the roster unless there's a trade. The Cowboys certainly won't go near Ray Rice knowing the PR nightmare/distraction he would bring and it's not very likely a back would be cut that would look any better than what we currently have. Injuries could change things which would force the team to add another back but being in June well into OTA's only a trade could improve on what the Cowboys have at RB.

I think Trade could be a possibility. Ray Rice would not even think about.

It certainly won't be for AP with him showing up at OTA's. The only other player that's come up as a possible trade option that I'm aware of is Matt Forte but the closer we approach camp if a trade does go down the more likelihood the Cowboys could over spend with draft picks. If they realize in training camp they may have made a mistake at RB and none of them are performing well during preseason they could get desperate and cough up more than they should in a trade. The Cowboys have had an offseason to prepare at RB and made the decision to allow Murray to walk and not draft an RB in a strong RB draft. Being in June they've gotten pretty far out to sea so hopefully they don't realize during preseason that the RB's they have aren't running as effectively as Murray did behind their OL.

I was never in the AP camp, could not bring myself to give up a 1st and likely more to the vikes for a 30 year old RB.

Neither was I and it would have taken a lot more than a #1. It would have cost the Cowboys multiple picks and they would have had to pay him more guaranteed than Murray received from Philly.

No credibility. You can see the writer reaching here. 6th in league in vertical passing?? My God. Bradford can't play. Sanchez will be in for at least a handful of games and their line has declined. Defensively, they play soft and Kelly's rush for no reason system will fail AGAIN. Lost of points and yards and highlites but in the end no playoffs. This division is between the Boys and Gmen. Book it.
