In your homer eyes only, fact is there is plenty of competition and will be slim pickens for a quality replacement if they wait too long. Already lost the opportunity for leach.

In my eyes only huh? Just two years ago A&M was rated the fourteen best job in America by ESPN. There is one school on your list with the financial and recruiting resurces that A&M has and that school is tained by the worst scandal in modern college sports history.

And PS UCLA is a far more prestigious gig than A&M.

IN FOOTBALL?!?!?!?!

:lmao2: :lmao: :lmao2: :lmao:

Brush up on your recent college football history. A&M has three times as many conference titles and is averaging over a full win more per season over the last 25 years. Since 1987 UCLA has finished ranked six times, A&M has finished ranked 13 times. A&M has an annual athletic budget nearly twice that of UCLA.

You couldnt be more wrong here.

But, but, but you're supposedly superior?

Not according to you, which is the issue at hand

How many savior coaches fired in the last decade now?

Not many people were praising Sherman has a savior when he was hired in 2008. The fanbase was pretty upset in fact.

And yet on a national profile what university is more prestigious and in a huge market that attracts loads more attention and promise for a successful coach.

A&M has produced no Troy Aikmans ever, at least UCLA has, and between living in Brentwood, California in a Mediterranean climate against West Coast teams or living in a dump like College Station let's think where a coach actually wants to be. UCLA has a chance to turn it around, A&M is going to be a doormat for years to come.

I understand Baylor fans only jumped back into college athletics a few years ago, but UCLA is a basketball school. STRICTLY a basketball school. Their football program brings them no real acclaim, especially in a town dominated by USC. As far as promise, promise is directly correlated to resources, recruiting grounds and fanbases willing to spend money.

Most football fans couldnt tell you where Aikman went to college, and certainly not current high school recruits. And someone who went to school in Waco, which rivals Beaumont as the toilet of Texas, shouldnt be running school location smack.

Baylor is going to finish with a better record than A&M for the first time in my lifetime this year, and it will probably be the last. Baylor is Robert Griffin, and their program will settle back into it's rightful place as soon as he is gone.

Based on the names I've heard so far, I'd say A&M is at least headed in the right direction. Seems like the younger heads in charge are making this decision, which is what they need.

Talk about someone that doesn't watch football, hehe. Anyhow Baylor can be 6-6 the next five years and still likely have a better record than the upcoming manifestation of the Fightin' Texas Aggies of the SEC.

No one outside of College Station would ever lend credibility to you asserting national prominence to anything A&M (outside of animal husbandry) over UCLA.

Do I have an MFA from UCLA? Yes, but I'm not emotionally invested in them, i just know Los Angeles has a lot bigger view of the world than College Station.

PS there are women in Waco, pretty ones, not so much in College Station.

Well, you know....... there is a rumor circulating that Mack Brown will be stepping down after the Baylor game. Those pesky Bears are trouble for everybody.

Our administration, or perhaps just Loftin, is finally showing initiative with the SEC move and now this. They will have to drag this fanbase kicking and screaming away from the table of mediocrity that many seem to accept, but we'll get there. I'm surprised at how many wanted to give Sherman one more year, the last 12 years or so has really worn this fanbase down.

This program needs a good hire and a top end football program again in the worst way.

A&M has 50,000 students, we have more hot chicks AND more ugly chicks than most schools simply due to size.

I managed to find plenty of attractive ones n my time there, including my wife ;)

That being said, one of my good friends went to Baylor and she and several of her friends were on the dance team and are all drop dead gorgeous. Baylor does seem to have a lot more chicks who like getting dolled up, at least more than one would expect for a private religious school. I hear inhibitions are often lacking there :laugh2:

What glitters is not always gold, but needless to say when you're outnumbered 2.5 to one it was not uncommon to do a double take when an unevenly matched couple walked past. All you could do was shake your head and think "he must make her laugh....he better have.":D

The buyout isnt an issue. Last week a group of big money Aggie grads made the athletic department aware that it would be taken care of. The issue right now is making sure the AD has the guy they want before firing Sherman. If they could land Smart or Sumlin it would be an absolute homerun.

Of course the buyout isn't an issue... A&M is a state school...

Tax payers are paying for this...

Not picking on A&M, it just pisses me off...

I'm mostly burned out on firing coaches every four years just to replace them with someone else who doesn't work. This is mostly a Dallas Cowboys issue but Franchione and now Sherman are the start of a trend I don't want to see continue. Byrne was stuck with those two thanks to money and politics, hopefully he will get to pick a guy he wants who will do the job right.

In the past UCLA has not paid a ton of money to head coaches compared to other big name schools. Considering the cost of living in LA is far greater than most other places, including College Station this can be a factor for premier head coaches. And even if they do approach the salaries of some of the other top head coaches, UCLA really tightens their money belt when it comes to paying assistant coaches. It is tough to build success when you can't pay for good assistants.
