and yet CAMPBELL was the one to win 2004 SEC players of the year, and not the backs

His senior year he passed for 2,700 yards, 20 TDs and 7 INTs. That was his BEST season in college by far, with two top 5 picks in the backfield with him and the best O-Line in the nation blocking for him. Forgive me not being impressed

I think Jason Campbell will be a pretty good QB, he's just having to learn too many offensive systems at an early age. Romo had the advantage of maturing in ONE system for three years, it makes a world of difference to a young QB.....

Well, better late than never, I suppose.

I'm guessing the 'Skins took a look at their remaining schedule and decided they had the best chance to pull off a win against the Bucs. Campbell will have a chance to get a "W" in his first start, thus restoring faith in fans... before they get slaughtered by Carolina, Atlanta, Philly, New Orleans and St. Louis.

Well, gives the fans a reason to watch the 'Skins, anyway. Should be interesting, I'm looking forward to seeing how he plays.

Edit: This move should have come after the bye, imo. For what it's worth.

does that include the SEC champ game where he passed for 370 yards and rushed for 60? probably not

HAHA, the guy hasnt taken ONE nfl snap and he is already a failure? But hey, what else could I expect from someone who can't talk football reasonably :bang2:

Translation:

"I never saw the guy play in college and am going off the sunshine pumping of my fellow Skins fans"

its true. I can only hope he plays as half as Romo is right now. GL with the reason of your season fellas, cuz ours is pretty much done.

I'll be the first to say that I have the utmost respect for Brunell. He seems like such a classy guy, and I actually feel bad for him sometimes.

With that said, his time is over, and it is time to start a new era for the skins. Im not excited about how good I think campbell can, but just excited that this organization finally found it time to make the switch
I like Campbell, but I think you guys paid too steep a price to get him. I for one wish you luck. I think he'll be an improvement over Brunnell, who you also paid too steep a price for. ;)

I liked Campbell in college...

I didn't feel he was a first rounder, but that doesn't mean he won't be a good player...

He might as well get in now, because if Saunders is gonna stay around, Campbell needs to start learning that giant playbook...

like tuna, this move comes several weeks too late.

unlike tuna, this probably came with pressure from lil' danny. even he could see brunell offered the team nothing, and fans even less.

Romo was the steal of the 2003 undrafted class. Campbell was taken a round or two too high in my opinion.

Tony Romo wasnt drafted because of lack of exposure. The guy played at a no name 1-AA college. However, he won the Walter Payton award for the best player in all of 1-AA football and owns every meaningful passing record.

HH, do you get paid for every thread/post that includes hating on the Commanders just for the sake of hating? haha. I swear if the skins ever went 19-0 you would still call us frauds, or cheaters. haha.

The best player in the best conference in America was drafted too high in the late first round?!

I would be very interested in knowing whether this was a Snyder or Gibbs move. If, for nothing else, for the sheer drama a Snyder-only move would entail.

Unfortunately, I doubt we ever find out for sure.
