That would feel like a knife in my side man.

you just have to learn to live with it. The Commanders are the Commanders, and who knows when they will change their ways. There is nothing that us as fans can do about it, we just have to hope for the best

I did too, i was one of his biggest defenders. I just dont think hes a good QB for this system. He doesnt look comfortable. He HAS to know how the fans have wanted him out for a while now, and im sure it has taken a toll on him. Hey with Brunell there were a lot of good memories...and of course some bad ones. We're starting a new chaptner now with Commanders/Cowboys.......2 new young QBs. Hopefully Campbell is the real deal.
I hope not, I want Romo to dominate Washington.

some things are meant to be....

if you are a Dallas fan, you hate the Skins and Eagles. Period.

You also hate the Giants, though that hate is usually not at the same level of the Skins and Eagles.

Depending on when you became a Dallas fan, you also despise Pittsburgh, San Fran & Green Bay and want them to lose at all costs...I fall into this category

David

I understand. I really do. But I dont see you going out of your way to start a thread or post something just for the sake or hating. Seems like HH has a reputation around here for talking nonsense.

They can have Bledsoe next year for $40 mil :D
You know that every 1 in 3 games he plays lights out so I wouldn't want to face a vengeful Bledsoe on that third weekend.

I think this move is about PR. The fans want it so let's give it to them. The skins have no chance to make the playoffs and Danny needs to find a way to keep attendance up for the over priced beers and hot dogs at fedex.

Stats wise Brunell hasn't been that bad. His QB rating is fairly high. The offense just plain sucks is what is the problem. I don't think it is a system that Campbell will suceed in. I really think they are setting him up for failure. What happens when the skins loose the next 7 games and have 1000 yards and 2 TD's and 20 Ints?

I've always thought the biggest problem with the 'Skins offense was Brunell's lack of arm strength. I mean, look at yesterdays Philly game. Brunell completed something like 16 passes, but after I charted them, 14 of them were for fewer then 10 yards. That's a horrible average. Saunders offensive philosophy, as anyone who watched a Chiefs game in the past couple years can attest, has always relied on vertically stretching the field. Brunell just can't do that. The 'Skins altered their gameplan to include short, outside routes a few weeks into the season. It worked against Houston, but after that game, opposing teams gameplanned for it, and it just hasn't worked.

Campbell has the arm strength to be able to stretch the field, and I see him as a much better fit in Saunders' original system then Brunell. Of course, this is all on paper. It'll be interesting to see how he does under fire. They have a cupcake game against the Bucs next week, then the schedule gets really tough. I don't like the 'Skins by any account, but I'm hoping they can at least beat a few of the teams that are also vying for a wildcard playoff spot like the Cowboys.

I like Campell.. My daughters name is Auburn,, if that is any indication why :) However, after watching him for 4 years.. I thought he was at best a 3rd rounder,, and would need 2-3 years in the system to "get it". Now the kid has had some adversity in his college and pro career... taking his 4 yrs at Auburn and his 2 in the pro's,, this is his 6th offensive system to learn in as many years.. that is not easy to do.

The main problem I see with Campell is he is a one WR guy. he will fall in love with a WR and always look for him first,, and if he is not there he will dump off or run.. and he is not fast enough to survive in the Nfl running. He does not avoid the rush all that well for a "mobile" QB. He does havea good arm, but he will put to much air under the long ball at times, causing int's that are avoidable.

I wish him well.. I really do.. but I think it is to early in his development right now.. but I guess the skins are in the same situation we were a few weeks, need to see what they have to see what they need in the offseason.

I think, like Bledsoe, he is simply past his useful time on a team that is moving on past what he can offer.

Patrick Ramsey is a better QB than Campbell ever will be. If you never saw him play at Auburn you really can't fathom how epic of a bust he will be. The guy was a fringe first day talent.

What was Ramsey's record against us with the Skins. Our old bus-driver blew him away. What have you got against Campbell anyway; he played in a tougher conference than Ramsey and finished with a 60+ per cent completion rate. His coordinator said that he picked up the West Coast offense quicker than any of his Pac Ten qb's ever did. How can a qb who went 13-0 in the SEC be all that bad, excluding Danny Wuerful of course.

People have to remember when Campbell was drafted. The trade for the pick was before the draft and it was leaked that he was the target.

31 other NFL teams knew he was their pick and 31 other teams didn't care enough about him to move up one spot in front of Washington.

31 NFL teams on taking Campbell that highly = :laugh2:

Most thought he didn't have enough between the ears to warrant a first rounder.

Then this season his own coach in Saunders implies that he's not smart enough to play in the NFL.

If he's a failure, the fate of Washington is the cellar for years on end due to no draft picks or cap room.

His senior year he passed for 2,700 yards, 20 TDs and 7 INTs. That was his BEST season in college by far, with two top 5 picks in the backfield with him and the best O-Line in the nation blocking for him. Forgive me not being impressed

Yet, you're impressed with Ramsey who never did anything with the Commanders, except get outplayed by Mark Brunell.

It's a good move by the Skins. How you ever going to know what he's made of until you throw him into the gutter and see if he can climb out?

Just like we did with Bledsoe, they already know what they have with Brunell - and it isn't the answer.

its the right move for the Commanders to move but skins fans will be seriously dissapointed if they think Campbell will have the immediate success that Romo is having. Campbell wont have the same talent around him that we do and Romo was ready because he had the same system his entire 3 years here while Campbell has had a bunch of different systems since he turned pro and now has to learn perhaps the most complicated offense in the NFL. he will struggle at the beginning and probably bad but if he survives and shows the ability to overcome it then who knows maybe he can be a real good QB one day soon

Probably should have been done a couple of weeks ago.

That said, I was kinda hoping the Skins would beat the Eagles and buy Brunell a couple more weeks of wasted time.
