ESPN: Jerry Jones: Add four more teams to the playoffs

Playoffs should not be expanded where half the teams in the league make it............the NBA has become a joke because of 8 seeds in each conference.............unless you are just a scrub team, anybody decent makes the playoffs in the NBA, its nothing special.

Ya but you also have a 7-game series so you wont see teams who have no business winning titles, winning titles. *Cough* Giants *Cough*

... and the list goes on for NFL teams. Rex Grossman made it to the Super Bowl for crying out loud!

If anything the NFL is the biggest joke of a playoff in sports. Get hot at the right time and win. No need for a series. Jamaal Charles gets knocked out early in the game? Tough luck, this is the only game!

c'mon, don't all teams qualify for the playoffs in hockey? THAT playoff process is the biggest joke to me....I think all of the NFL, NHL and NBA want more teams in the playoffs because it generates more revenue...baseball is getting there as well

I am not a supporter of adding 4 more teams to the NFL playoffs...I like the current model; where the top two seeds in each conference get a week off - that is their bonus for playing well throughout the season...they should have some type of advantage, and adding more teams to the playoffs would just eliminate the bye week for the teams that have earned it

He's an absolute embarrassment.

If I were he, I would be embarrassed to ask for an expansion of the number of teams that can make the playoffs. Most people I think see it as a desperate effort to get to the playoffs because for the last 17 years as GM he only has one playoff win to his credit. Why doesn't he spend that time trying to improve the talent on the team so he can make the playoffs rather than have the expanded number to expand far enough to take in his team without improving. Is this an admission that he doesn't think the Cowboys can ever reach the playoffs otherwise?

It is a horrible idea. I'm just pointing out how flawed the football playoff system is. Other sports are better but they also aren't as physically demanding. European soccer has a system that would fit the NFL better. Winning the league is the #1 accomplishment, with tournaments on the side.
