ESPN KC Joyner: Overrated/Underrated Pass Blockers... Flo overrated?

Face it guys - Flo can look like a statue as speed rushers blow by him, and that isn't just something that developed after the injury.
ding...ding...ding..ding...ding! The guy is just not that good....and this is not a recent development. Above average? Yes! But how he makes the Pro Bowl is beyond me.

Adams is just not the answer anymore. He's still servicable and pretty solit, but being out there on an island, you have to be a little bit more than servicable and solid, cause Romo nearly got killed back there way more than he should have.

How many false starts did he have last season? (Edit: 5, according to Stats, Inc)

You would think with the money the guy makes, he could buy a hearing aid.

Frankly, I think Joyner's metrics are overrated. In fact, his metrics may be number 1 on the made up stats overrated / underrated list.

He may be on the overrated ESPN analysts list, too... I just haven't seen it. We know Theisman has the number 1 spot sewn up though.

Joyners chat's are WAY overrated as well. I think Darren Hambrick would likely do a better chat.

His grammar is underrated though. He writes pretty well and many don't even notice.

That's all just my opinion... which of course is all that the under / overrated lists are anyway... just opinion. In Joyner's case, it's his opinion based on his phantom metrics - so his lists may carry a little less weight.

Those chop blocks that were called on Dallas last year were very dubious calls. I didn't see any defensive player rolling around on the ground holding his leg. The officials making those calls seemed to be picking on our running backs. I remember being very upset at those calls. What did our backs do?

I am far from sold on K.C. Joyner's "metrics". The fact that Joyner assigns "invisible" yards to a cornerback's "stats" is one of several red flags to me. However, I know Adam's value to Dallas. I don't need Joyner's "Peter Gammons" impersonation to fill me in. Just go back and look at the 2005 season without him. Dallas couldn't compensate for two weak tackles. Witten had to stay in and block. I think Shockey will have to do the same for the Giants this year.

The Colts DE was just paid a mint. Adams gave up one sack to him, and Parcells gave him major love after the game was over. After Adams and Kozier adjusted their run blocking in the second half to negate the looping stunts on their side, the Cowboys running game got on a roll.

Is Adams over rated, or are the offensive tackles in the NFC not very good as a group? I think Adams is a good player. He may not be the ultimate, but he has been better than solid. We should be thankful that we have him. Let's hope he is healthy, because if he isn't, it could be a long year.

I believe Adams' play is the key to our season. A fine-tuned Flozel Adams should produce a confident Tony Romo. A quarterback needs to be able to drop back and know his blind-side is protected.
