Seems foolish, to me, for Lodge to base a decision on where Murray goes. I mean, if you knew he would be the QB, then I can understand it but as has been mentioned, he might never play for Aggies. You sitll have a pretty good option in Allen but IDK. I think Lodge might end up at Ole Miss.

I really hate that top flight Texas kids are going to Ole Miss and other backward states. If they don't go pro there is no industry in those states.
No real network for jobs back here.

Lodge is a beast. He will be a stud for someone and can really play.

Rumors are pretty strong that Ole Miss is paying guys. We know Auburn paid Cam and some others.
The NCAA is so neutered right now that it will probably get worse before better.

Rumors that Ole' Miss could be losing a couple of recruits. No idea if these are valid or just talk (like you hear so much around this time of year) but apparently, rumors suggest that Richmond (OT) and Jefferson (WR) could be opening up their recruitment.

Daylon Mack committed to TAMU. That's a really good get for them. Mack is cat quick of the snap. He will help them a lot.

Will be nice to see him and Myles Garrett on the line together. It will be difficult for offenses to double team both of them. And they picked up a couple of solid DL recruits in James Lockhart & Kingsley Keke. I think Daeshon Hall comes back improved as well, and Obioha comes back for his senior season. They're building a solid D-Line group.

And some solid gets in the secondary - Deshawn Capers Smith, Roney Elam, Larry Pryor, and Justin Dunning will all be players.

But they didn't get much in the way of instant linebacker help, and were weak there last year. Hopefully an offseason of workouts and learning from John Chavis helps.

I think Garrett is probably there for another year and then he's gone but yes, they will work well together. Honestly, I think this is a very weak class, defensively, for TAMU. The rest of the Defensive guys they signed, IMO, will likely not be day one starters. Have to see what comes of this class a few years down the road. JMO

Myles Garrett was a true freshman in 2014. He has two more years at A&M.

Mack is a good player but not sure Aggies will be fired up to root for him considering all the drama he took the team through.

Lockhart just isn't very good. Suprised the Aggies stuck with his offer as I didn't think he was good enough to play at Tech who has a putrid DL, much less in the SEC. To be fair however it is possible they use him differently or see something to develop at TAMU... I didn't in live game action though.

TAMU needs to get a DC in there that can do something with the talent. Right now it looks like the last decade of UT defensive recruiting. The parts are better than the whole and the results are maddening.

As a Texas kid I'd like to see TAMU win the SEC and keep the Texas recruits going to the SEC at one school....

Apparently you missed the news that A&M hired John Chavis, formerly the defensive coordinator of LSU and Tennessee before that. He was the 2011 Broyles Award winner for Best Assistant Coach in the country, and for the past four seasons his LSU defense finished no worse than 15th in the nation. And during his six seasons in LSU, only one team in the nation allowed fewer points per game than LSU (Alabama).

I suspect he'll be able to do something with the talent at A&M.

Nope, didn't miss it. Suspect it was a good hire but time will tell.
