Jones does not revere team history as he should and yes, he does tend to think the franchise started 29 years after it actually did.CoCo;3223627 said:If you want Cowboys history taught to current Cowboys you probably ought to start with the owner. Judging by who's not in the Ring of Honor he must think it all started in 1989.
This is our 50th year same as the AFL. No celebration. I won't lie. That pissed me off.Alexander;3223634 said:Jones does not revere team history as he should and yes, he does tend to think the franchise started 29 years after it actually did.
The situation with Drew Pearson in the Ring is a particularly hard one to grasp and I believe it is a personal thing. He and Pearson got into a scrap about some ball cap deal that Pearson had with his company and it obviously has never gotten resolved.
That would be a great idea. So I'm sure they won't think of it.Alexander;3223282 said:I seem to recall that the NFL Network rebroadcast the actual game in its entirety last year some time. Is that right? I missed it if so. It would be nice if they did that this week.
Actually, they did.speedkilz88;3223636 said:That would be a great idea. So I'm sure they won't think of it.

What you notice when watching the old games though is just how much athletic, fast and generally, better the players of today are than those of yesteryear.
Yes we revel in players of long gone eras but I highly doubt those 70s players could keep up with those of today.

Miles, Miles, Miles.
Every year when the rookies come in, Jerry should show them a 1-hour documentary on the history of this great franchise, complete with interviews of former players talking about what it means to be a Dallas Cowboy.

1984! Geez, that was the first year a Cowboys team from that era missed the playoffs. It signaled the beginning of the end for the Landry teams.
Yes sir. I think he was meaning the 1980's though when he said that era.CanadianCowboysFan;3224055 said:didn't they miss in 1974 as well?
