ESPN: Matt Miller’s 2 Round Mock

Probably close to the same size as Joseph. If he’s a stud hopefully we don’t ignore him.
As I wrote in the other thread, we need to determine what type of corner we need. I think it's one that possesses elite speed and can locate the football. We saw Brown really struggle giving up the big passing plays cause he could never turn his head and find the football. I don't care about height/length/weight, find me a corner who can do this.

It’s Insider but here is what he has

i

26. Dallas Cowboys

O'Cyrus Torrence, G, Florida

One of the top performers during Senior Bowl week was Torrence, my top-ranked player in Mobile. The 6-foot-5, 337-pound right guard was dominant in one-on-one drills throughout the week, showing an aggressive ability in the run game. But what was most impressive during the week was his ability in pass protection, where his length showed up as pass-rushers were unable to consistently get around him. The Cowboys' offensive line is in flux, but the addition of Torrence would allow Tyler Smith to play left tackle full time while improving the team's overall offensive line play. The Gators' big man allowed just one sack in 2022.

58. Dallas Cowboys

Clark Phillips III, CB, Utah

Finding a starting outside cornerback opposite Trevon Diggs -- standout rookie DaRon Blandplayed primarily in the slot -- should be on Dallas' short list for the offseason. Phillips had six interceptions in 2022, and he has the toughness and instincts to excel playing inside or outside cornerback at 5-foot-10 and 183 pounds. No, he doesn't have ideal NFL size, but his on-the-ball production over the past two seasons prove he can make an impact.
I'll be surprised if they draft a Guard in the 1st.

Yes, he'll likely be BPA if available at #26 but Guards are often BPA in the late 1st and all other rounds.

My recollection is that most of the big plays allowed by Brown where due to him not being able to match the WRs height and/or vert.
- Definitely true in the Green Bay game.

I think arm length has to be considered when evaluating the sub 6-1 CBs.

Quinn certainly targets length, not only with his corners but for his entire pass defense.

This team has so many needs but if there’s a G available with 1st round talent I would have no complaints about using our 1st pick on him to pair with Tyler Smith for the next 8-10 years.
A good chance that there will be a first round talent in the Florida kid or the Minnesota kid who can play center or guard.

i would say its highly unlikely too,i dont see hem using another 1st RD on OL.

CB is pretty straight forward to me…find someone who checks the athletic boxes and that was good in college.

I don’t know if we’re more man heavy / zone heavy so that factors in but scouting CBs isn’t rocket science IMO.

You can’t be upset with this draft. I really like both players. I’m not sure we will take a OL in round 1 but if we do I’m good with this.

You’re probably right as long as some key FA’s are resigned. Pollard, LVE, Wilson. But I would add TE to your list. Last year’s rookies are nice for where they were drafted but nothing special.
Surprises me how many people think we’re ok at TE. Ferguson, Hendershot, and McKeon had a combined 32 receptions for 288 yards in the regular season. None of those guys are particularly good blockers. TE is high on the needs list for me.

Like them both, won't question the staff if they're sold on an O-linemen. Tyron as the swing T.

OT with our first pick?

Yes please.

At this point you really can't count on Tyron to stay healthy so it would be unwise to already think about Tyler at OG instead of OT. I think they were ok with Tyler at OG but wanted him to be the full time OT because they knew Tyron is close to the end.

Could you imagine the run game with Tyler and OT on one side? Nasty.

Add to that the idea that in just a couple of years you have remade your Oline with Zack being the only older player.

I think he is definitely worth it if you want to run the ball better, but issue is, what happens if Tyron returns? Once Steel comes back the thought is moving Tyron to left tackle and kicking Tyler inside at Giuard.
Honestly I expect Tyron to give us only 6-8 games. To me he would be better off being the swing tackle. I think the Florida kid is going to move up boards like Johnson and the Texas A&M kid last draft so he probably won’t be there at 26. The second round pick does not meet the Cowboys measurements at corner. I would like the picks if that is who we drafted though.

I would keep Tyler at LT and OT at LG. Torrence has not played tackle and was strictly a guard in all four seasons. He allowed zero sacks in four seasons so he is pretty dominant from both sides playing guard.

It’s wild that Smith will be 22 and OT is 23. They would dominate for the next 10 years.

I said it earlier though. If OT played tackle he would be a sure fire top 5 pick

CB, OL, WR, TE, RB, DT are all in play at 26.

We saw Green and Johnson taken at 15 and 17th overall last year.
Then Tyler Smith goes at 24th, but the Cowboys bet of him being a left tackle paid off early in spades.

If he's a legit day 1 starter with Probowl(first ballot) talent then I'm not too opposed to it depending who else is on the board.
Trenches need to be built, but also the defensive line needs love too, and there should be some good talent this year late in the 1st.

Middle linebacker too. Take the best player available.
Think that would depend on Lve. Already would have him and Clark, where Parsons also plays some off the ball as well. Did you notice against the 49ers, Parsons was playing off the ball in obvious run situations.

All the picks could depend on who they sign. I wouldn’t care if we resign Pollard I would still draft Johnson if he is there at 26. I am hearing crazy things like he is the best running back prospect since Peterson.
