ESPN Matt Miller's updated 2 round mock

This would be an absolutely awful outcome, particularly Arroyo in the 2nd round.

If you’re gonna go receiver at 12, I think Egbuka makes so much more sense. He’s more ready-made to step in and contribute as a regular part of the offense Day 1, running big boy routes. To me he’s on that Reggie Wayne tier between a #1-2 receiver.

FWIW, I would wager a decent amount he ends up testing better than Burden too.

To me, Burden is a classic back end of R1 prospect. The kind of player a very good team with solid WR depth could fold into their receiving corp but not be reliant on early.
Egbuka is an awful fit with Lamb.

Golden is a dog

Golden the number 2 receiver in the draft? Longhorn fans tell me more?

I thought Matt Miller had Dallas connections. There is no way we take a tight end in the second round.

I like Golden but not with the 12th pick. And TE second round would be impossible

i like golden but not te in the 2nd.
i hope they don't pass on rb's again in this draft.

After the RB coach we picked up, I think Ekeler will be in play for us in free agent. He bounced back from a poor final season with the Chargers to average 4.8 YPC with Washington. However, he had to overcome a couple of concussions and only carried the ball 74 times. That should keep his price down since he's likely viewed as a No. 2 back.
I wouldn't have minded Ekeler last season, his contract wasn't that much more than Zeke's.

For as much as we complain about a lack of speed and separation abilities on our WR group I'm surprised that more people aren't into Golden. I get he might not feel like an excellent value at that pick based on end of year mocks, but he seems like an excellent complement to Lamb. Also feels like a high floor type of player to me. Personally I'd rather try and trade back and take my chances than go with Golden at 12, but I certainly wouldnt hate the pick.
Golden had a much better season than Isaiah Bond . I was hoping Golden would make it to the Cowboys at 44 but as usual. The players I like fly up the draft board. It's like the rest of the league catches on to what I was thinking all along.

Looks like I was wrong about him. He signed a two-year deal so he's still under contract this year.

That's what I thought. They were talking about FA RBs on locked on Cowboys and it's not a great year for them, Jones, Williams. Harris, and Dowdle were some of the names mentioned.

That's part of the reason I wouldn't mind them going after Chubb. I know there's risk involved with him coming off a broken foot, following his return from a knee injury (which he was just showing signs of getting back to form from), but that's why we could get him. Before last year, he had never averaged less than 5.0 per carry.

Of course, I'd also draft an RB within the first three rounds, doubling down on the position to make sure we have one back who can do what we need from the running game. I really feel that Chubb can be a Saquon situation where a) he wasn't on a good offensive team and b) his numbers last year didn't reflect his quality.

He said he wants to stay in Cleveland, though, so it's likely something gets worked out.

I'm taking Jeanty over a WR if thats the choice in the 1st

I like that idea. I'm not sure about injury but if they did due diligence it could work out.

Yeah, I acknowledge the fact that he's been in the league seven years and may have just hit the wall, where injuries start being a regular thing and take the legs out from under a back, like with Elliott. But I'd be willing to take the chance IF we also protected ourselves by adding a back in this deep class by the third round. You're never going to hit a home run if you don't swing for the fences.

awful.
if you are going WR no need to draft 1 at 12.
3-4 guys there that are basically the same grade and none as good as the smith kid at tosu.

drop 3-5 picks and then select a WR or Jeanty.

Going WR/TE is braindead.

The athletic did it much better:
12. Ashton Jeanty
44. Jayden Higgins

Golden went 29. Arroyo 48.

Context....Burden drops to 19, Egbuka to 21 and Jeanty to 22.
Golden is rising if you believe this mock

Cowboys
1st....Mathew Golden WR, Texas
2nd ...Elijah Arroyo TE, Miami

After watching Philly beat up people on both sides of the lines all year long... this seems like a Jethro move, lets get weapons on the outside and ignore the trenches.. He need to sell jerseys.
