ESPN meddling with NASCAR?

I was and I am still not a fan of NASCAR but is it me or does it seem like some "interesting" and new things are happening with NASCAR?

Ever since ESPN got the contract for this season all sorts of weird stuff is happening.

All the scandals and cheating going on. Then at the biggest race , the Daytona 500 there is a "photo" finish.

Maybe I am over thinking this and maybe I am even caring too much but it just seems like they are trying to spice it up in order to bring in bigger ratings.

I'm not sure. The were on ESPN years ago but I believe FOX announced they were locked in for the next 8 yrs.

Odd.

All I ever see on ESPN are commercials for NASCAR and they even have shows for NASCAR like NFL Live.

Just seemed to me ESPN was pushing NASCAR harder than this year than previous years.

Oh well, maybe I am dreaming

I agree unless my basketball team is playing on ESPN I rarely watch it this time of year.

Fox doesn't want the fall schedule because it conflicts with the NFL which draws an rating that's higher than animals randomly stepping on remotes.

They're pimping it more now because up until this year, FOX had some sort of exclusive rights to highlights.

ESPN wasn't even allowed to have a camera inside the track grounds. They'd wait at the local airport to interview drivers.

I hadn't heard that ESPN was getting the other half. Last year NBC had it.

ESPN even had the finish as their #1 play of the week.

Has NASCAR ever broke their top pays of the week? lol

And according to their poll the finish was the most exciting event of the week.

Its working I guess.
