FWIW who wants to come into Dallas any more and try to clean up the mess? You kill your career for even attempting. I know Jerry pays good but it is becoming coaching suicide to go work for him. All of our "we should hire this coach" threads are worthless because why come here and get canned instantly like Rob Ryan because you are supposedly inept, only to turn around and prove the organization you previously worked for is inept at your next job in such a quick turnaround. The depth is among the league worst and the talent is overrated. No one should want to come here and be the hero that turned Dallas back around under Jerry, it continuously looks impossible. Why give up your good gig at a premier college or coordinating job at an already winner to be apart of the current Dallas Cowboys organization?

From jones' mouth, "Any one of five hundred coaches...."

It's comical but I'm serious Picksix. He literally started from the bottom up in football. Most people associate him with owning the Raiders but he was a line coach and HC of the Raiders before he bought them later in his career and was a college assistant for many years (I think). Jerry should in no way, shape or form be confused with Davis the football man unless it's at the end of his life when he seemed senile. Jerry's a freaking joke.

You're absolutely right. Al was a genius early on, and did start from the bottom and built a Championship organization, as opposed to Jerry, who did play in college, but basically bought his way in. It's just that it's hard to remember the good years for Al, because there was so much bad at the end.

Kiffin tried some secret sauce earlier In the season but he ended up sharting in his depends.

As my 3-year old used to say, "That's not not nice!" HAHAHA

This is one of the funniest posts I have read for a long time. Thanks for the laugh. :)

Fire the D coordinator again! This season only proves one thing about this defense, Jerry has no idea what he's doing(like we all know). He blamed Rob Ryan for the mess that was last seasons D-failure and brings in new one with the same results. Changing the D-coordinator is not going to make the players better, the players are just not good enough to play. Simple as that. Thank God there was something better on TV that was more entertaining, The Walking Dead...

Every one is putting all this on Kiffin, but JERRY is the one who deserves the blame for sticking with the same crappy, injury plagued players that have been here the last few seasons. He ignored the defensive line and safety positions. He didnt do anything to improve a LB corp seriously lacking in depth. At some point players on the field have to win some battles and do their job, you can only mask so much as a defensive coordinator. While Kiffin deserves his share of blame, Jerry is the architect of this defense, not Kiffin.

I wouldn't say he ignored the defense, he has just been unsuccessful in finding talent...

I would like to nominate this post as the Cowboys Zone 2013 'Post of the Year'.

It doesn't get any better than this folks.

It's equal parts analytical, thought-provoking, and I dare say profound. You have touched my soul my dear man with this near Hemingway'esk use of the English vernacular.

I tip my hat off to you sir. Good day to you.

because IF you could pull it off....that'd be a ridiculous and permanent legacy.

for eternity it would be "the coach who overcame jerry jones"

If you're the DC and the owner feels compelled to dictate how you run your scheme, that's when you know you're in some deep doo-doo. Monte's gotta be feeling footsteps right about now . . .
