Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News talked to several league scouts about the best way for the Giants to approach Sunday's playoff game in Dallas. There's a feeling across the league right now that the 13-3 Cowboys are vulnerable.

Everyone agrees that the Giants' defensive line will have to find a way to pressure Tony Romo. The last time the two teams met, Cowboys left tackle Flozell Adams neutralized Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora. They realize Umenyiora's a more dynamic pass rusher than Michael Strahan, but offensive line coach Tony Sparano has the ultimate respect for Strahan.

Cowboys right tackle Marc Colombo isn't a real athletic player, but he's a lot more powerful than most players realize. Look for the Cowboys to help their tackles with tight end Jason Witten early, and then open things up later in the first half.

Witten is a matchup nightmare. And it won't help that Giants linebacker Kawika Mitchell is out.

Our longtime pal Gary Myers of the Daily News thinks all the distractions in Dallas point to a 28-24 Giants win. And you have to love the story's headline:
"Dallas moans as Tony roams"

Myers also brings up the subject of Wade Phillips' job security. It's hard to imagine Jerry Jones firing someone after a 13-win season, but he didn't have any trouble running off Jimmy Johnson after he won two Super Bowls.

How far is Jerry willing to go in order to keep Jason Garrett? We may find out soon. I think Jones should stick with Phillips no matter what happens Sunday, but if the Cowboys lose, look for this to be an issue.

All this gloom and doom crap is going to be so funny next Monday. We won't be favored to win a single playoff game, but I bet we win everyone of them (including the Super Bowl).

this stuff is just unbelievable....I mean these guys really do not know football....we have been dominant every game we have been motivated to play....it is hard to get up for every game when you have an 'X' on your chest. We have been on TV in primetime more than anyone else all year. Our 3 game stretch in the middle of the season against the NFC East is proof of how dominant we can be when focused and motivated. I have felt all along this team was ready for the playoffs to begin weeks ago. Well they are here now, and you will see us focused and locked in. I really think we win by double digits. I see Miles Austin dying to atone for those drops....I see the OL dying to atone for 1 yard rushing...I see Romo dying to atone for poor December play. Relax guys...seriously!

I watch Gary Myers on the Pro Football Weekly show. The entire panel picks the Giants to win every week including our 2 previous Giants games.

Myopia is creeping in for some fans who think that 'flipping the switch' is a pretty simple thing to do.

The 'hype of hate' that is irritating many Cowboy fans is not far getched...In the last few games, Dallas has not looked invincible...That's not hype, that's reality...Romo and his thumb, that too is not hype...There's clearly something going on there...Running game has dried up, an injured TO and poor adjustments by Garret et al has fed into the analysis that Dallas has looked vulnerable.

That's simply a reality...When healthy and having built up momentum, we all have seen what they can do...Still, we haven't seen that since first half of the Green Bay game...That was 6 weeks ago.

Flip side of the ball and Giants have momentum coming in...Let's try and minimize the kool aid drinking and call it what it is, it's less than ideal circumstances...Far cry from saying Dallas is a mess but only a biased Cowboy fan can look at this and say Dallas is a lock...No honest fan can say they can be confident of the product that shows up on the field this Sunday...Who knows what we'll see

Exactly. Vegas knows more than any of these biased blowhards... Funny that the big sportsbooks aren't buying this "hottest team > better team" and "Cowboys=vulnerable" talk.

I should have clarified. I meant by the media pundits and "football experts". You know the same guys that predicted we would lose to Green Bay and have a hard time going 2-1 during that NFC East stretch.

On Monday all you'll hear is excuses as to why New York beat themselves rather than how the Cowboys handed their ***** to them.

It's the norm and I'm cool with it. It makes them look all that much more stupid when the Monday morning hangover kicks them in the face.
