Falling

5526.jpg
Manning
1. Eli Manning, Giants WR: It's been a pretty dramatic fall for Manning over the past two weeks. He struggled in a loss to the Saints and then he was turnover machine against the Cardinals. He appears to be too worried about making numerous pre-snap reads. The Cardinals appeared to have the jump on his snap count and they threw him out of rhythm. I think he's capable of snapping out of it against the Eagles on Sunday, but there has to be some concern right now. Where in the world are these delay-of-game penalties coming from? He just can't take those type of flags.

3590.jpg
Randle El
2. Antwaan Randle El, Commanders WR: The Commanders had just trimmed the Eagles' lead to 17-7 and then forced a three-and-out. For a moment, it almost looked like the Skins might climb back in the game. But for no apparent reason, Randle El allowed a punt to bounce off his facemask. It was a huge mistake by a veteran player from the Commanders. I'd find someone else to put back there on punts. Randle El's just not sure-handed enough at this point.

Manningham
3. Mario Manningham, Giants WR: When your team is desperately trying to get back in a game, you can't drop wide-open touchdown passes. Manningham's capable of making some big plays, but he's also shown that he can butcher the easy ones. He needs to concentrate more on catching the ball and stop worrying so much about the yards after catch (YAC).

Austin
1. Miles Austin, Cowboys WR: Might as well just leave him here every week. His 421 yards and four touchdowns over the past two games is a remarkable achievement. Roy Williams is the No. 1 wide receiver in name only. Austin has emerged as Tony Romo's favorite target at wide receiver. He's really good at using his strength and balance to break tackles before taking off on long touchdowns. He brings a big-play dimension that Romo really needs. If Austin and Felix Jones get going at the same time, watch out.

8426.jpg
Ware
2. DeMarcus Ware, Cowboys WR: Let's give the man his due. He's now one of the highest-paid defenders in the game, but he won't lose his hunger. It appears that Ware is back to his unstoppable self. He picked up two more sacks in Sunday's win over the Falcons. I thought he played his best game of the season against Atlanta.

3. Will Witherspoon, Eagles LB: The Eagles' new middle linebacker played for the Rams at FedEx Field earlier this season. He played like a man who's just been granted a pardon from the Rams, because that's pretty much what's happened.

3601.jpg
Witherspoon
Witherspoon was remarkably active Monday in his first action with the Commanders. He said the linebackers had talked about stripping the ball. Well, Witherspoon came through with a forced fumble and a 9-yard interception return for a TD. Signing Witherspoon might end up being one of the best pickups in recent memory. The Eagles desperately needed a linebacker -- and it appears that Witherspoon will be a good fit.

I didn't realize Eli and Ware played some WR.

"They couldn't be worse than RW11" - Inevitable response.

It shouldn't surprise anybody that when Eli plays against good teams he can't do diddly.

And Will Witherspoon was awesome last night. He's always been a good player he was just one of those unfortunate souls stuck in Stl.

Well, you have to wonder if that plantar fasciitis is really affecting him.

Probably a bit. The Cardinals do have a pretty good defense though.

Exactly. He was noticably quicker from where he was a month ago. Night and day.

I don't doubt for a second he was bothered by injury.

He doesn't have brainal fascitis. His mistakes, at least what I saw against Zona, were mental. Especially that last pick. And he's always been erratic at times, healthy or not.

I'm not that familiar with the situation, but I remember reading that the injury could prevent him from practicing during the week. If that's so, the brain farts could be a result of the foot injury.

Ah, well that's possible. But that last interception, the safety was right there the entire time. It was like that pick Romo through on a deep route against I think the Giants. Safety didn't disguise anything, was over the top the whole time, and Sheli through it right to him. Thats a mistake that college QBs shouldn't make.

No doubt. Maybe even dating back to that hit in Tampa that knocked him unconscious. Even now despite a fractured foot the guy is beasting.

I hope he keeps it up. I hope it lasts all season and he gets worse.

Nobody enjoys seeing Eli look bad and the Giants lose more than I do, .. but two of his picks last night were just awesome defensive plays, not poor decisions or bad throws.

Just sayin'.

I keep hearing that Austins 421 yards over a 2 game stretch is a Cowboys record.

My question is... how is that not an NFL record? And since it isn't, who holds that record and what were their stats?

I have had plantar fasciitis 3 times in my life. It hurts the LEAST when you are active. It is manageable. Hurts like hell in the morning but once your up and running - the pain goes away alsmost completely.

The Giants play QB friendly football.
They run the ball well and attack on defense.

To start the year everyone loaded up against their running game so Eli had his choice of 1 on 1 match-ups and he looked great.

Teams stopped loading up on the run because it hasn't been so hot this year and voila Eli looks average. Put Eli down a couple scores and he presses and looks like Tony Romo on a bad day. Amazing how that happens.

QB's 4 through 15 are pretty similar imho.

Brady, Manning and Brees might get passes but after that all these guys have issues when the running game goes kaput and they are playing from behind by more than 1 score.

I thought about the Manningham TD against us when he dropped the pass he is talking about. He has bobbled, and caught, a few this year. Figured that luch would run out eventually.
