Jerry Jones exclusive: 'Felix has a bubble butt'

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones wrapped up Day 1 of rookie minicamp by calling into the Metroplex's top afternoon radio show, "Galloway and Company," which features yours truly from 3-5 ET on weekdays.
Jones addressed several topics, including but not limited to the Adam Bernard "Pacman" Jones trade, the drafting of Felix Jones and his recent attempt to land Detroit Lions wide receiver Roy Williams. And one quick sidenote: You can now listen to our 103.3 ESPN show on XM Radio 141 from 7-10 ET in most states.
Jerry began the interview by saying there were only two receivers in last weekend's draft who had any chance of making an immediate impact for the Cowboys. He admitted that one of those receivers was Indiana's James Hardy and I'd bet you $1 that the other was Michigan State's Devin Thomas. In typical Jerry fashion, he came close to calling third-round draft choice Martellus Bennett the next Antonio Gates based on two superb minicamp sessions.
"We spent several weeks talking about the right kind of tight end," Jones said. "He can absolutely do some of the same things that a wide receiver could do."
At first, Jerry said he'd been looking for someone to "take the heat off" Terrell Owens, but then he caught himself and said that catering to quarterback Tony Romo was the most important factor.
He talked about his decision to choose Arkansas running back Felix Jones over Illinois' Rashard Mendenhall, saying he "didn't blink" when it came time to make the pick. In an awkward moment, Jerry began describing Jones' posterior, saying he had a nice "bubble butt."
He's obviously a little sensitive about his new running back being classified as a scatback in some circles. I'll be back later this evening to let you know what Jerry said about his new cornerback, Pacman Jones. He indicated that the recent story about Pacman paying the alleged gunman in the Las Vegas shooting extortion money didn't catch him by surprise.
"I knew there would be some fallout," he said.
He then indicated that Pacman's financial troubles should further ensure that he'll make the right decisions in Dallas. Sounds pretty naive to me, but Jerry's a known gambler.
Back with so much more later. And one last thing: My neighbor Chase Gaddy won the TAPPS state championship in the shot put today with a throw of 48 feet. I've seen him throw it 50 feet in the front yard, but 48 was enough to get him the title for Bishop Lynch High School.
