..is going to surprise alot of people I think with how they expand the offense using two TEs that can play.
And interesting that apparently it was some weeks back that they decided to look at TE closely as a need.
Meaning Fasano was being taken out of the gameplans and marked for trade or camp cuts down the road.
Probably, it was already determined Miami would make a trade for him at the appropriate time.
Which triggered it all.
Bennett to me in a 2-TE offense for some power running and some redzone play has me looking forward to this.
While Witten and TO are going to definitely draw double coverage, Bennett is like a big tree out there with good hands to snag some passes in single or no coverage at times.
And as has been hinted, both he and Witten can be sent outside to lineup and both can catch passes matched up on CBs, whom they will typically overwhelm in size and power and ability to break their tackles after the catch.
Hmmm...drafting this guy Bennett possibly means more of an immediate impact to this offense and get a much larger number of game day snaps than maybe drafting that rookie WR we all wanted but who was going to end up on the bench in most scenarios and playing ST.
Personally, I think the Garrett offense is going to take a shift towards running the ball alot more now that Felix Jones is here and Bennett as a quality 2nd TE that will also play a part in the passing game.
And I think we will see Romo not having to throw the ball as much because we will lean on the this ALL PRO OL and the stable of backs we have with adding Choice as the 3 rd. RB and a short passing game consisting of the TEs and RBs to carry us and rather than the big play downfield as something we have to rely on.
Maybe this team does know what it is doing..?
Ya think..?
