Every Saturday during the season, I make my predictions for games involving NFC East teams. I'm really riding the fence on both the Eagles-Giants and Cowboys-Chargers games. The Eagles have owned the Giants in December and early January, but Tom Coughlin's team is as healthy as it's been in a couple months and the Eagles don't have a lot of veteran leadership.

But before I unveil my predictions, let's take a look at what the experts from Bristol came up with this week. Merril Hoge has been on a roll this season, but he's coming off a rare 8-8 week. Mike Golic went 10-6 during a week where there were some upsets, so let's keep an eye on him.

The esteemed panel came to a split decision on Cowboys-Chargers. Eric Allen, Mark Schlereth, Golic and Hoge went with San Diego. Ron Jaworski, Chris Mortensen, Adam Schefter and Seth Wickersham picked the Cowboys.

Beast prediction: Cowboys 31, Chargers 28

I was shocked that Schefter was the only human panelist to pick the Giants. That doesn't make a lot of sense to me -- especially since the game's being played in Giants Stadium. I think the desperate-team theory will work again for the Giants this week.

Beast prediction: Giants, 21, Eagles 17

Golic, Hoge, Schlereth, Schefter and Wickersham are all picking the Raiders to beat the Commanders. I think Jason Campbell will take advantage of the Raiders' man coverage and have a big day.

Beast prediction: Commanders 21, Raiders 13

I agree with all those picks. I'm on the fence about the Cowboys-Chargers. My heart of course is for Dallas. My head says SD will win.

Now I know his football IQ is vastly overrated. Jason Campbell couldn't take advantage of a Jr. High secondary and have a big day.

30 of 42 for 367 yards 3TD's 1INT vs. the Saints. Looks like he took advantage of backups in the Saints secondary who should be rated a bit higher than a Jr. High secondary.

To blow my own horn a little, I'm ahead of all of the "experts" from Bristol this year, by a pretty fair margin... I was 136-56 at the end of the week, Hoge was the best of the "experts" at 131-61...

Maybe the boys at Bristol should hire me to make their "expert" picks, LOL...

My goal is at least 180 correct picks by year's end, which would put me slightly over .700... going into this week, I was at .708, so I'm on pace at the moment... been playing pick 'em games for a few years now, but have never reached the magical .700 mark...

The pressure's on... :D

I see the Eagles beating the Giants.

True Tom. There was a bit of sarcasm in my post, but how often does he have games like that? Even then, he threw a very critical pick at the end and was playing against a Saints team playing on a short week, on the road with guys just picked up off the street. Most of those yards were YAC too, so it wasn't like he was throwing deep outs or posts. He looks at his 1st read and then goes to the checkdown. The guy is a backup QB, nothing more.

Dallas 34, SD 24

Game means more to Dallas and it is at Cowboys Stadium. Team is focused and fan base will be excited.

Philly 31, Giants 17

Lost in the NYG victory over Dallas was that they were outplayed on offense and defense. They won't win 2 weeks in a row based on nothing more than inertia. Eagles make the big plays this week and walk out with a win.

Oak 20, Skins 16

Wash has been playing defense but so does Oakland if you can't beat pretty good man coverage. Campbell and the Skins WRs are horridly inconsistent and the running game is nondescript. Oakland gets a bit better offensive play with Gradowski and the win.
