I said Asante makes big plays in big games. he had 4 picks in a new system including a pick6 against cleveland. than at Minny in the playoffs he had a pick6 and he almost had another the next week @ NY but got tackled at the 1 yard line.
You said more than Newman.

I fail to see how in any way that this is embarrassing. What it tells me is that RW finds his relationship with Romo to be very important. How is that in any way a bad thing?

I hate throwing out the word agenda but its pretty obvious that Mosely would love for RW to fail.

I'm not one who thinks that Mosely shows an anti-Cowboys bias these days, but I do surely think he has a hard on for Roy Williams... he takes little shots at him all the freakin' time...

I think Roy must have slept with Matt's dog and poisoned his girlfriend...

It cracks me up how this guy continually bashes Roy Williams then talks about how much potential the Giants have at WR? Are you kidding me, Hixon, Smith and Manningham havent done squat in the NFL and Hixon is the only one sho showed he might be capable of being a solid #2 WR.

Newman PREVENTS big plays from happening which is what a CB SHOULD be doing. Not worried about making BSPNs highlights.
Samual would get TOASTED working the slot. Oh and where were all those big plays when it counted in the SB?

Romo and Roy Williams still don't appear to be on the same page in the OTAs I've observed. And Williams' insistence on talking about how Romo and him have "broken down boundaries" is sort of embarrassing.

It's great to hear about the possibilities with Austin but this Romo/RW11 crap makes me let out a huge SIGH. I thought they worked together in the off-season? How long does it take RW11 to get it? We can't afford for him to still be working on "getting it" as we go into the season. Some of this potential running game success relies on the possibility of our WR putting enough of a scare in opposing DCs to prevent them from crowding 8 in the box frequently. Gotta get it Roy....

Maybe it's just because this writer doesn't like RW11. I get that. Hopefully that's the case and said WR is meshing very well with his new QB.

Mosley: At this point, Austin's actually Romo's favorite recevier. I'm serious. The two bonded big time in last year's training camp, and Romo has a lot of confidence in him. Romo and Roy Williams still don't appear to be on the same page in the OTAs I've observed. And Williams' insistence on talking about how Romo and him have "broken down boundaries" is sort of embarrassing. There's a chance that Austin is one of the Beast's breakout stars in '09. I had a chance to talk to him for a little while Friday. Everyone keeps asking him if he's going to be the No. 2 receiver. And you can tell it sort of frustrates him. In his mind, he has a chance to be the No. 1 receiver.

Like I said before, don't be surprised if Miles is our go to guy this season. Romo spoke very highly of him last TC, hinting around to reporters and such. It all hinges on him staying on the field.

I'm going to make sure I have him on my fantasy team this year, haha.

The reason it bothers him is probably because he's still running as the 3rd WR.

Samuel has the NFL record for interceptions returned in the playoffs. you guys are acting like Asante is DeAngelo Hall or something.

Asante ran one of his 4 back for a td and had double the pass deflections than Newman. I can't believe all you homers think Newman is better than Asante Samuel.

Rampage, the more you post the more you're losing your cred. Sorry, but to argue that Asante Samuel > Terrence Newman is laughable and baseless. Sorry for the bad news!

Terence Newman played 5 fewer games than Asante Samuel and tied him in picks while totaling more tackles.

And having double the PBUs is nice, but it also points to being targeted by quarterbacks more frequently.

Both are very good corners.

Samuel has 83 passes defensed and 26 interceptions (4 TDs) in six seasons.

T-New has 77 passes defensed and 20 interceptions (1 TD) in six seasons.

Samuel has missed 6 games and totaled 267 tackles with 0 sacks.

Newman has missed 9 games and totaled 353 tackles with 2 sacks.

Samuel only Started one game in his rookie season and 8 in his 2nd season. he also has 7 career playoff interceptions returning 4 of them for tds. I'm done on this topic. I clearly think Asante is better than Terance like most people and you think otherwise. difference of opinion.

And I clearly never typed that I thought Terence Newman was the better player.

The stats show two good players and I don't watch New England or Philadelphia very much if they aren't playing Dallas.

I haven't seen enough of Asante Samuel to say anything about him other than what the stats tell.

It makes no difference to me if Samuel is the better player.

I just want to get 16 healthy games out of T-New after two injury marred campaigns.

They are both excellent CB in this league and both play some different styles. I might lean towards Asante because of some of his big time plays but I am very pleased we have T-New on this team.
