Tell that to OJ...!!??

:laugh2:

OJ is a mixed bag - depends on who you ask.

If you ask the majority of black Americans they will tell you OJ was innocent.

I think it depends on the type of crime. I think that people tend to be more forgiving if it's a human frailty type of crime. Cheating on your wife, gambling, DUI, those kinds of things. If it's a crime that shocked the human value system, not so much. When athletes do things that the average fan can't look at and say to themselves, I could see that happening (maybe not them specifically but you get the idea), then there is no forgiveness. In fact, it tends to be a situation in which the public never stops ridiculing them. JMO

For the most part I would agree.

I certainly don't think fans will forgive Vick overnight - it will be a long process.

To be honest, I really hve probably been saying this wrong anyway - whatever forgiveness Vick gets wont be total - not the same as with other lesser incidents - but I do think they will give him a second chance.

But as I said, I think much depends on what he actually pleads to or is convicted of.

Like stasheroo said, even with a plea many folks (I don't think all like he said - there are a lot of gullible people in the world) will know or believe that he was guilty of more, but over time people will still forgive it more than if he pleads to or is convicted of actually setting up and running the operation.
