Is it possible to go just ONE day without a pro/con Dak thread??? I know, stupid question……carry on
Prescott brought this on himself.

Get past the divisional round and the masses will settle down.

This is all that needs to be said in regards to NFL quarterbacks and championships.
But they are not always elite QBs when they win them and sometimes are called elite because their team won it (Eli). Another example Big Ben 2 SBs and was HORRIBLE in both playoff runs and the defense had to carry him. If I were to line up his stars and Philip Rivers you probably couldn’t tell the difference. The big difference was a defense to carry him.

I think the pro-Dak crowd does this on purpose, hoping to get the anti-Dak side riled up so they can hurl their usual insults like 'hater' and other things when anyone responds.

They are won by good QB's surrounded by elite talent typically. Elite QB's dont do squat without great players around them. And you typically need to throw in good coaching on top of it all.
Super-Bowl winning QB's from #27:

Aikman
Aikman
Young
Aikman
Favre
Elway
Elway
Warner
Dilfer
Brady
Johnson
Brady
Brady
Roethlisberger
Manning, P.
Manning, E.
Roethlisberger
Brees
Rogers
Manning, E.
Flacco
Wilson
Brady
Manning, P.
Brady
Foles
Brady
Mahomes
Brady
Stafford
Mahomes

These are mostly, but not exclusively, elite level QB's.

But you're absolutely right that it takes a complete team and good coaching to make it. I do believe Dallas is a contender this season.

All the people dissing Hurts because of his supporting cast are also dissing the legacy of Troy. Troy had the best O-line of his day, the best running back (or 2nd best if you like Sanders), a great receiving duo, a damn good tight end, and a great coach. And that defense was pretty darn good IIRC. So if Hurts ends up with a few Super Bowls, will the narrative change?

I think if Troy was on this team, we beat the 49ers one of the last two years. He wouldn't make the mistakes Dak made. Hurts did the same--no mistakes against the 49ers. Just my opinion. I also have to say that as much as I dislike the Eagles, I did find joy in DPOY Bosa getting his *** kicked by Lane Johnson. Micah should have been DPOY.

Agree with Jackson. I wouldn't want him over Dak. Like you, I also believe Lawrence will be very good but the hype train is running fast. I will say that he looks like a very different QB since Pederson took over for Meyer--25 TD's instead of 12, 8 int's instead of 17. And I'll add the guy above him, Herbert. He has the stats but nothing else. I am curious to see him in Moore's offense, but his post-season success is, um, non-existent.
Hurts threw for 160 yards against a Josh Johnson lead squad. They probably win that game with you at QB

I never said he had to torch them but turning the ball over is something you can't do. That's why I said he needs to step up against the 49ers.
Agreed. The turnovers killed us.

Easier said than done though... if you just go 3 and out/punt every possession, you're not turning the ball over but you're also not going to win.

"pull some magic out of thin air" LOL

And lets talk about Mahomes for a minute...................how many points did Mahomes score in the SB he lost 3 years ago against the Pats when his Oline lost a few lineman?

9 points and 0 TD's.

QB's need help, even the great Mahomes. Anyone that doesnt think that Mahomes isnt surrounded by great talent and coaching dont pay attention.
You mean the Super Bowl were he had turf toe and couldn’t run? That was the Super Bowl your savior would have sat out and our oline has never been ravaged with all backups except the time after Dak was hurt and Andy Dalton had to deal with all second strings;). Nope Dak owns his own mistakes and after the last two years and the last loss being specifically on him I find it hilarious you and the dakboys even try to persuade real cowboy fans. He ain’t that good and never has been, can’t win the big ones on any level, thanks for playing

Maybe not if, in his 2nd year he did that, and then led his team all the way back for the playoff win with 4 TDs and a 2pt conversion.
LOL!!! You've been here long enough to know better. Why lie???

Half of this board was saying Dak sucks after his 1st playoff game, when he was a rookie and lit up the Packers defense in a 34-31 loss.

The usual suspects STILL insist Dak played like crap that day!

Its not Prescott job to get us anywhere. All he does is play QB.

The Cowboys will get by the Niners when we have a better team than the Niners. Prescott or no Prescott. Matters not.

NFL personnel universally ranked Dak as a top 10 QB this offseason.

My heart breaks for you. I'd be humiliated if experts on a topic I'm passionate about considered me to be a know-nothing dolt.

Keep your head up, big guy.

vs Green Bay?

Hey Nav, maybe its selective memory, but I don't recall anyone saying he "sucked" that game.
We did lose though...not because of him.
Some said his stats were misleading, but that's another story.
You are right in that some won't cut him a break no matter what.

I would appreciate it if you wouldn't call me a liar though.

LOL......funny how he just says it like its so easy NOT to do.

Playing the #1 defense in the NFL, best front 7 in the NFL with an average Oline, a running game averaging 2.6 ypc with only Zeke, and little to throw to other than Lamb. We can also throw in an OC that is predictable.

3rd and long almost every down because Zeke goes nowhere and the defense plays nickel zone because they dont respect the run. And to top it all off, you kicker continues to miss extra points so your HC is making you go for it on 4th downs.

Yah, just dont turn the ball over and light them up!!! :lmao::lmao2:

Yes, vs Green Bay.

Ask around. Start a poll if you'd like. The usual suspects ABSOLUTELY blamed Dak for that loss, and still do. Those mouth-breathers know who they are.

That's why it's hilarious to me when they even attempt to talk about the QB position. They either have zero knowledge of this sport or are so full of Dak hatred that they can't be objective for even half a second. They're complete jokes.
