Of all the RB's in NFL history I'd take Bo Jackson first. He had the power of Zeke, the speed of Pollard and the stiff-arm of Marion Barber. Damn.
I would take Walter Payton over both - Payton was a a complete back like Emmitt - yes he could block - and he had the "shake n bake" of Barry.Agree, if going for complete back then Emmitt should be higher than BS, but if going by runs only which is probably all they are going by then Barry.

For those too young to remember...

I remember watching that game and me and my brother-in-law were wondering how they didn't get him a TD - if anyone on the team deserved it, it was him.Payton was great, man. Speed plus both finesse and power. I think Barry was better at pure running but Payton checked many overall boxes. Shame he didn't get a Super Bowl touchdown.
Only problem I have with Smith being that low is that we had a great O-Line then why such a hard time getting another good RB after Smith left.
I loved those high lights. Remember the egirls game at the beginning of the season and right off the bat he hit that hole up the middle and went about 68 yards and took it to the house. Was just a great play and year. Many don’t realize what Elliot has done with not the same O-Line Smith had. Many only remember "Gaping holes" for Smith but thats not the case, he did have them especially against bad teams but when we played Good defense (the East was full of them then) he earned his yards..watch him shedding people behind the line alot i think sometimes the run scheme was "Leave this guy for Emmitt and block everyone else" and he did a great job at getting past them. He also great in the passing game catching and picking up blitz and chipping the numerous great DE's we faced then...again people remember what they want to but he was the most complete back of his era and it really wasnt even close. Rushing, recieving, blocking, sturdy, didnt take losses....ooh well people like highlights and thats how we have arrived at the game they play today.
