ESPN: Possible Cowboys FA targets

I understand Albert would likely command a contract similar to that of Free, but we will also be paying Free not to play for us. If we could make a clean break from Free and not owe him anymore money, sure. But from what I understand, it will be a substantial cap hit to cut him and we have other pressing needs. Also, I stated before that Albert would probably prefer to play LT. Would the line play better with Albert at LT and Smith at RT or vice versa?
you can bet if Free isnt the RT next yr it will be parnell or they might work in weems. But Dallas sure isnt going to sign another RT. Thats plain economics of the game now. if there will be changes it will be to the interior of the OL.

They could if they find the right deal. Last year the Chiefs signed Eric Winston to a 4-year 22 million dollar deal. I think the Cowboys would be OK paying a RT 5.5M per year. That's cheaper than keeping Free.

If they do replace either of the 3 guys i think it will be in the draft. Not a FA.

Byrd should be a top target so that we don't have to trust the position to just scrubs anymore. That they include the Steelers who already have Troy, should say enough as to the importance of the position and how much was suck at it. If you want a dominant D, our pitiful safety crew shouldn't be allowed on the field.

I would be happily surprised if we went tackle and WR in FA, with tackle usually bringing alot of money and the team probably thinking they have a WR within who can play the role. The interior of the OL would be much cheaper to bring in, and seeing one of them brought in is much more feasible than a tackle. Wes will want too much money, but would be nice to see a guy brought in at the vet minimum for that position.

Yeah because both lines are peachy!

Disagree it will be both hopefully not on the cheap and with a little forethought in FA

they wont have the cap to do that along with the other holes they have to fill

Would be nice if we didn't have to choose sides here, we need the BPA at OL, DL, and safety, or really the BPA period. When it comes down to draft time, none of the 3 should or will be reached for, if an OL with a higher grade is available which is higher than a DL then he should be taken. That goes for alot of positions cause this team has ALOT of needs, drafting isn't about need, its about the best football player to help the total team.

Needs are filled in free agency, and since we do need all 3, any players who play those positions should be on the radar.

Your getting too emotional and attached to one side or the other. A cold calculating approach is much better some emotional 'We needzzz lines baddddd!!!!' approach, especially when your talking about the draft. If you want to get emotional, yell that in free agency, where it is warranted and should be addressed.

You fix the lines a lot of issues are solved. The biggest holes are along the lines, we can live with our safety situation.
