I think the stat is more of a reflection on Snyder's insistence to sign or trade for has-beens or players who don't really fit the Skins system (whatever system that may be) than a reflection on a previous Pro Bowler's sudden loss of popularity in the voting after arriving in DC.

Every Skins fan on here puts up the front that they want to have a sophisticated "football argument" but none are willing to admit the multiple flaws of their team or that Snyder's ownership has been a failure. Lets start there if you guys just want to "talk football".

I'd say Cooley is pretty good. I'd say Chris Samules is pretty good. I've said time and time again, Randy Thomas is the most underrated lineman in the league. Like having Santana Moss across from TO wouldn't make you personally wet yourself. Both Portis and Betts have done something neither of your starting RBs have done: run for 1000 yards.

I'm glad you agree that Moss is a #2 WR on very good teams

Because there are linebackers, like Patrick Willis, D-Ware, Urlacher, who are simply far better than him. That's how he doesn't make it. And don't give me that Willis makes it, beating him out, on name reconition when Willis is a rookie.

Fletcher is a good player but at the linebacker spot, at least in the NFC, he's fighting an uphill battle against several players that are just flat better than he is.

I do agree, however, that the Pro Bowl is not the be all end of all of player evaluation. That will not happen until they take the fan vote out of it. The fan vote, being roughly half the voting, is what clouds it because guys do get in, with a load of fans, on popularity only. That's how a guy like Roy Williams continues to make it each year despite the fact that the last two seasons he's really not deserved to.

It's also why a guy like T-New is only just now making his first appearance, this last season, when he's been one of the best Corners in the league for a few years.

It happens that way I guess.

I also agree that yes Portis should have made it in 05 (or 06 can't remember the exact year now) when he had those 1500 plus yards and double digit TDs.

well the AFC was knee deep in Running back talent that years starters for the pro bowl were

Priest Homes - 282 carries 1315 yards 22tds
Jamal Lewis - 338 acarries 1747 yards 11 tds
Clinton Portis - 290 carries 1591 yards and 14 tds
LT - 313 carries 1645 yards and 13 tds.

something to note though is there records:

Cheifs- 13-3
Ravens- 10-6
Broncos- 10-6
Chargers- 4-12

In 2005, Warrick Dunn made it over Clinton Portis...even though Portis carried the Commanders to a 10-6 record, a wild card appearance. Dunn's Falcon's were 8-8.

This is the one exception to my previous rule:
When ever possible screw over a Commander player by not giving him his deserved credit. This infuriates Commander fans and that's a good thing.:laugh2:
