i doubt Vaccaro makes it to 18.

Agreed. Many mocks actually have Vaccaro as a top 10 pick. No idea why, but that seems to be the case.

I see no good reason to trade up in this draft.

Agreed. I do see some great opportunities for trading down though.

I have Bjoern Werner pegged for the Cowboys in my 1st round mock for all the teams...

...plus I didn't see him workout at the combine. I read somewhere he has similarities to JJ Watt...other than being white, I don't see the parallels. Educate me on this kid guys....would he fit into Kiffin's scheme? Details please....

He at one time seemed like a top 10 lock but is looking more likely to be available at 18. I could see him as the pick if Spencer moves on in free agency.

my general thoughts:

warmack - would be the best case scenario
richardson - not a fan
floyd - would be tempting
cooper - second choice
jordan - luxury pick, but he is a stud who can play SLB while he grows into Ware's replacement

small trade down
fluker - love this player; he can play anywher on right side
austin - playmaker at returner, slot, 3rd down back
vaccaro

bigger trade down (not crazy about this option at all)
matt elam
terron armstead
eric reid
travis frederick

Love Frederick & I am intrigued by Armstead but trading out of the first should not be an option for a team that is lacking at so many positions.

Why is everyone so convinced both guards will be gone? Decastro wa the guy everyone thought was top ten and best guard prospect in awhile and he dropped. I wouldn't be suprised if one or both were there at 18. Vacarro on the other hand will most likely be gone. Honestly I just want BPA is it improves either line

I agree. I think both OGs will likely be there, honestly. And the OTs will go first. Vacarro, too, should be gone, as he's alone in that top tier for safeties.

Agree too.

Positions like DT, DE, OT, CB, WR, QB typically go first. There's only so many players. Warmack and Cooper will be there for us. It's possible Cooper goes a couple picks before us because of his athleticism and potential at C, but I'm not sold on that.

The one thing working against us, though, is the lack of top talent in the draft. People might be more willing to take their highest rated player--even if he is a guard--because there's just not enough talent at the positions listed above.

If I had to guess, Dallas should have the opportunity to pick among these four widely discussed players--Richardson, Warmack, Vaccaro, Cooper.

1 or 2 at least fall as there are some surprise picks. I feel fine about a pick at 18 but if not then a trade down is fine, too.

This is a weird draft. No real good QBs and WR and RB is lacking as well. So that just might make some of the other shiny toy guys think about taking someone that actually does the dirty work.

Normally, at this point, you'd have someone talking QB and hyping one into the pre-draft top 10s across the board. It's bizarre that there aren't more skill players. The top CB layer is thin, too. There are some good WR candidates, but no go-to guys in the top 5-6 players. It's all trench players of different sizes and types. It's going to make for an unpredictable first round, hopefully, it encourages a lot of small trades as teems jockey for the players who fit their systems the best since there's not a lot of got-to-have guys our there early.

Sure wish there were more QB, RB, and WRs slated to go in the top of the 1st round. More meat and potato opportunities for us.
