Return of Rams shouldn't affect Cowboys' training-camp plans

IRVING, Texas -- While the Rams will now be calling Los Angeles home, nothing should change about the Dallas Cowboys' ability to have training camp in Oxnard, California.

The Cowboys have a deal with the city through at least 2017 to hold parts of camp at the River Ridge complex the Cowboys have used 10 times since 2001 and will have exclusive use of the facilities. The deal has rolling three-year options available if both sides want to continue the partnership.

The Cowboys will be moving into the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, this summer, but they likely will hold a full training camp in Oxnard as the small details at their new practice home are finalized.

I would bet, the Cowboys get more fans at their TC, then the Rams do at theirs.
Even with the hoopla of them returning to L.A.
Now the media will be out in full force, but not for long. Jerry is thinking of a splash deal or announcement as I type this, to steal the show....

They were the L.A. Rams in name only for the last 13 or 14 years. No fan base at all in the city as they were down in Disneyland.

Raiders still have fans but honestly, the Raiders attracted so much criminal activity to the Colosseum area that no one wanted to go to the games

The vote yesterday showed how much pull Jerry had. Supposedly Carson was in the lead with the owners. A couple days before Jerry says Inglewood and magically Carson is no longer in the lead.

My guess is that Kroenke's own company will have that work. That's how he made his billions.....with the help of his wife's Walmart connections.

When Kroenke first met his future Walmart heiress bride, he would buy up land in areas Walmart planned to build in. We would eventually sell the land to Walmart at hugely inflated prices and his company was contracted by Walmart to build the new store and ammenities around it.

Great gig if you can get it.

Why was it certain the Rams would move? I never followed this part of the nfl, I'm curious as to why a healthy looking team like the SLR's was going to move regardless, over say a struggling franchise with lower seasons tickets

Kroenke was moving the team to LA come hell or high water. In St. Louis, the Rams are worth roughly $1.5B. Moving to LA, the Rams are now worth north of $4B. Overnight.

The race to LA was always about money. It usually is.

As I recall, the Cowboys, Commanders and Patriots are all north of $4B in value. The Rams, near the bottom of the NFL in value yesterday, are today right up there with the top guys.

That's why there was so much interest in moving to LA.

I grew up with the LA Rams, so this is cool to me.
