OXNARD, Calif. -- Linebacker Rolando McClain got thrown right into the fire in his return from retirement. There was no acclimation period for McClain, the 25-year-old former eighth overall pick who sat out last season and missed the first two practices of the Dallas Cowboys' training camp to attend his trial on two misdemeanor charges in Alabama. He put on the pads Saturday afternoon and got to thumping. In fact, McClain hit a little too hard on his first rep of team drills, tackling running back Lance Dunbar to the ground, something that isn’t supposed to happen in practice.

I was completely sold on this kid when he came out. He could have been one of the best LBers in the league IMO. For the upside it's worth the next to nothing cost risk associated with it.

I agree. I think its going to turn out well.

I know or thing he is a big dude to put in the middle of your defense.

if he's got his head on straight like he says...goodbye sean lee

Disagree. He'll play WITH Lee. Move Lee to SLB. MLB position has proven to be too physical for Lee. Moving Lee over will hopefully keep him healthy and prolong his career.

I have visions of Lee - McClain - Carter dominating for the next 5-7 years dancing in my head. :)

I think you will see Wilber and Holloman and McClain and Carter as the top LB out of camp and I can see Carter being expendable after the season especially if Holloman has a strong showing and Lee can manage to stay healthy. But I think Wilber is going to have a very solid year.
