I disagree with his statement that McFlabb is in his prime. Yeah, I know that a lot of older QBs have had a lot of success in their last years (Elway and Favre, eg). But those guys weren't always beat up like McFlabb is. Plus, they were better passers to begin with.

A lot of McFlabbs success has been due to his ability to buy time to allow receivers to get open, and to run the ball. As that ability continues to erode so will his performance. Just my opinion.

you guys are a little over the top.....I said it when it happened..I really wish Peterman or Rivera would have worked out..that way we could have given that 18M signing bonus to Adalieus Thomas...first it would alleviated us from having to draft yet another OLB in the first round..which meant would not have had to trade away our 2nd round pick to move back into the first to get Spencer...AND it would have kept him away from NE. Witten cannot school him like he does most LBers in the NFL....he is the real deal

I don't know if we'll beat New England or not... but I don't think it's going to be a cakewalk for their front 7 to play against our OL. Maybe Hoyte is back. He can lay a lick as a FB.

I have yet to see a team come out and be truly physical with the Pats. If we can be physical on both sides of the ball, keep Moss from getting some clean releases and get to Brady... We just might shock the world.

On the other hand... I'd be ok to just let them win this game and then win against them in our second meeting this year. ;)

I do think we'll improve more between now and the end of the season than they will. I think their about at the best they can be. We still have room to improve and get Terry Glenn and a few others back all the way. I know they have a few guys coming back too... but we're still growing as a team and Tony is still growing and learning as a QB and team leader. $0.02

Matt Williamson: (12:27 PM ET ) I might agree with you completely. Can live with the LBs and OL. They do need one young talented WR and could see them using a first rounder there. J Jones will probably leave, so expect a first day pick on a RB as well. They are in a great situation for the future-not have glaring needs, but have high picks.

I wonder if the Cowboys would be OK with, if we can't get Mcfadden, with drafting a RB in the 1st and still play the two headed monster but with Marion starting?

Lets see the list of other 'real deal' LB'er corps Witten has had success against just this year so far, never mind last year:

Zach Thomas
Lance Briggs
[SIZE=-1]Brian Urlacher

Given it is just the combination of players we have on offense, but I haven't seen Witten stopped yet, no matter the name on the other side. He looks slow as can be out there, but he gets open all the time. That is not something that super strength or speed on defense can overcome and I don't think Adalius Thomas is what you would term a 'cerebral' player.

where is all of this sentiment coming from that J jones leaving is some kind of done deal? I have not seen a thing in press or whatever where either he is unhappy or cocaches are unhappy with him.

Likely. We still could go RB in round 1 though, even if we don't get McFadden. Rice, as you know a lot of people like him. I like Slaton if he comes out. He would definately be the speed back to compliment Barber. Could he pass block and handle blitz pick-up? I don't know.

If the coaches think he can... I wouldn't mind him at all.

I'd be OK with Marion starting and have another guy we get in the second or third round to give him a rest.

I can see us going WR in the first and RB in the second. We've worked on both lines in the last few drafts, plus getting Tank at such a young age really helps too. Not to mention L. Davis on the O-line. I think we could go with two skill position guys in the first two rounds and be ok.

I could also see RB and then CB. Or more likely, CB then RB in the first two rounds.

To school is a relative word. What exactly to do you mean he won't school him? You think Thomas will shut Witten down, or just not let him drop 7 catches for 106 yards and a TD? What about 4 catches for 55 yards and TD?

I do like Thomas. He's a great fit for New England's or our defensive scheme. However, Adalius isn't half as good in pass coverage as Urlacher is. He's ok for sure... but he isn't elite in pass coverage, IMO. I've watched Thomas his whole career because he went to school here at Southern Miss (Hattiesburg) and I followed him there and with the Ravens. He's good... but he's not a great coverage LB by a longshot.

Austin - Dallas, TX: When the Cowboys play the Patriots, do you see a blowout or a close game going down to the wire?

Matt Williamson: (12:23 PM ET ) Pats handle them. Sorry. I just don't see chinks in NE's armour.

No doubt NE is good... and as always I want to win, but I would much rather beat them in the second meeting...

The interesting thing about Matt Williamson, he absolutely loves the 'boys. In every chat he's done this season, he posts more 'boys questions and gushes over them more than Matt Mosley.

Actually a lot of the ESPN chatters love the 'boys, they just think the Pats are better. The 'boys will have to just show and prove.

Hate to say it, but Patriots should be heavily favored.

To be the man you got to beat the man.

Dallas will be the man!

Yes, favored.

Lots of experts out there, only the silent ones are the ones to listen too. Pundints have their favorites and some just like to just make a splash.

Vegas odds will tell us if we are real close to them or not, money talks. I bet we are close to even in the game, playing at home.
