SD could be a great fit for Norv. With a RB like LT in the lineup and a young QB in Rivers, Turner system could be a very good fit for them
There may be some issues there, but they are nowhere near what the Bengals have become.StanleySpadowski;1375932 said:I'm not sure San Diego's that great of a job anyway. People want to jump Cincinattii for being a bunch of thugs and felons but the Chargers have them beat hands down. Two of the front seven are proven 'roiders and are one strike away, a starting safety has an admitted gambling problem and is facing felony drug charges, a projected starting LB was shot by the police last year...
If ever a team was ready for an implosion.

It was HIS decision to dump Brees and go with Rivers- who is also on the team because he demanded that he be picked. Marty wanted to keep Brees. I think THAT was the final straw between them. Marty's poor record in the playoffs is what doomed him. That said, I question who is going to want to come to SD that is established and have to deal with Smith. I really doubt that Carrol wants to.

I know you are referring to merriman and Castillo as "roiders", but they are also two of the best players at their position. Castillo has not had a problem since he came into the league, he said he used before he came in. Merriman screwed the pooch, but he got his wake up call.
The offense is loaded with Rivers, Lt, Gates, McNeill. They also have some nice complementary WRs in Eric Parker and the developing Vincent Jackson.
You have a great GM...I mean that Manning trade worked out OK, right?
This is a great job, to try to find reasons to not like this job is questionable.

Marty was right when he didn't want Rivers and didn't want to part with Brees. Spanos and Smith are morons.:laugh2:

Maybe I'm crazy, but to me it's the only scenerio other than the owner and gm in SD being totally insane.
So let me see...they were backed into a corner by Manning, yet still were able to secure Rivers, Merriman, and Kaeding in the deal. 3 Pro Bowlers for a guy who did not want to play there...that worked out I guess.StanleySpadowski;1375953 said:They had more arrests for more serious charges than the Bengals did, the media just didn't make as big a deal about them. I guess felony drug trafficing isn't as bad as having a few beers on a boat.
As far as a great GM, the only thing Smith's done is not screw things up. The Manning deal wasn't of their own volition. Manning said he wouldn't play for the Chargers so they took the best deal offered.
Even going back to the Vick deal, that really wasn't what they asked for. They didn't have the cash to pay a #1 overall at the time and Atlanta came in with a ludicrous offer.
