Goodness, Phillips with Quinn, Donald, and Ogletree? Should be a fun defense to watch.
Does he move Quinn to OLB in your view? Is Donald stout enough as one of the three DL? Or does wade stay with 4-3? I'm pondering it and not quite certain.

Interesting to see what he does with DL, that front is made for a 4-3 unless he wants to make Donald a 1-gapping NT like Ratliff used to do. I wouldn't do that though.

Yeah I wonder what does this mean for some of their personnel? I'm sure they will try and make Donald work wherever but where does he and Quinn fit? It seems like they have 3-4 personnel to the T.

Congrats to Wade, he deserves this and you can just look at him and see how much he loves his job. Like everyone I'm curious about how this affects the rams roster, but however it does, I wish Wade nothing but the best.

I just enjoy that the Cowboys fan base embrace him and there are no bad feelings after his departure. I, too, am happy for him and was stoked to see him win a Super Bowl last year.

BTW, any staff should feel free to move this to the NFL Zone.

I agree w/your first notion...Wade is Cowboy family. And why the compulsion around here to move threads of general interest? Things get buried that aren't in this thread?

Commander fans are convinced that the Commanders are gonna trade Cousins for Donald.

Is he going to a 3-4? Not sure it's the best fit for Donald. Yes, he can play it, but he is much better as a 4-3 DT.

No, a lot of people have confirmed it's not going to be strictly 3-4 and that Wade, nowadays, is running a unique hybrid defense.

A quote from Wade himself

"We try to fit what the players can do in the defense rather than saying, 'OK, we're a 4-3 or we're a two-gap 3-4,'" Phillips said per The Denver Post. "We're a team where if a guy can stunt and rush the passer, we let him do that. If a guy is a power guy, we try to let him be that. It's all what individual players can do."

Basically, Wade will use a scheme that fits his players. Will have a touch of Wade's uniqueness to it, I'm sure. Expect them to be a top 5 D, maybe not next season, but in 2018.

No, Wade will use those players where they are best. If Quinn and Donald get moved, that would mean they are out of position. Wade will most likely be staying in a 4-3, and if he doesn't, I'm going to guess the previous coaching staff with the Rams really screwed up the defensive schemes for the players.

Though, there will most likely need to be some shuffling with the linebackers.

They will play alot of 4 man lines in Nickle and Dime, which they will be in 70% of the time. Donald will still get his 10+ sacks.

He doesnt fit a 3-4, but its kinda moot considering how often teams are in subpackages

They wont run a 3 man line more then 30% of the time. Most of the time they will be in Nickle or dime. It will be interesting how they use Donald in base, but its really not a huge issue

There you.

Also Wade will fit his D to his personel. The D he ran here and in Denver wasnt the same alignments. Both places he catered to his personel and will do the same in LA

This is some serious BS that he accepted the Rams job without even interviewing for the Commanders. A team that is vastly superior, and always have been.
