I think the coaches are doing Romo a big favor by allowing him time to get back 100% in terms of conditioning. As I said Romo will be under more pressure to perform at a high level than ever before. Organization knows well what the outcry will be if Romo comes back and puts up a stinker of a game, their will be no quarter given Romo by fans or media.

It's going to be just Romo's luck (and ours as Cowboys fans except for the die-hard Romosexuals) that the Cowboys roll through the remaining schedule and won't lose another game.

If that happens, there's no way Romo returns to the lineup this season.

I know this sounds odd and I have no way to back this up so this is MERELY MY OPINION. But I think there's a part of Jerry that wants there to be a down game so he can reinsert Romo who can, then, take the team for the rest of the year and into the playoffs to the Super Bowl.

Then next year, he can have an open competition between Dak and Romo, knowing that he benefits having either under center or understanding he can deal Romo because he has his future quarterback in Dak.

Yeah, but he's faced really high levels of criticism before. Once the volume hits a certain level, I'm not sure a change in volume matters.

The biggest potential change in volume will be for Garrett. Depending on how this thing plays out, he could end up facing 100X the criticism he's ever faced.

A few weeks ago, after Jerry announced Tony wouldn't be active for the next game, he deferred the obvious decision regarding whether Dak would start that week to Garrett. I thought, yeah, Mr. Jones isn't stupid. He's positioning himself now for the storm that's up ahead, lol.

Dak loses? The team loses and Dak plays well. He's still the starter. Only way he is benched is if he struggles mightly for 4 quarters and the team has no confidence in him. He struggled against the Eagles 'cause they blitzed him nonstop. But he recovered in the late 4th and OT. Steelers don't have that kind of pass rush.

Bookmark it, that is what 1/2 of Cowboys nation is waiting for. Once Jerry and crew get the feel of the room (fan base) and think it is ok to bench Dak they will do it. It will happen at the next loss...that is what I predict.

He has but I don't think to this level. Heck you already have pundits saying he should not be given the opportunity to start. Romo will have to prove a lot of people wrong and all those people will be waiting for any slip up to go on the attack. I just think in the end I would rather have Tony back at 100% in all aspect to allow him a chance to shut some people up. If in the end Romo does not get the opportunity then I feel bad for him but glad for Dak who has done a great job with this team

I agree the volume will be higher if he doesn't play well.

This is just an aside, but what would really make me cringe would be seeing our fan base start booing Dak during his rookie year. Not sure that they would, even if he had a couple of weaker performances, but also not sure they wouldn't lol.

I don't want to see Dak being booed either but I find that less likely to happen than Romo getting booed the 1st time he has a bad throw. Frankly I see more of a QB controversy in the media and fan base than I do with the team themselves. I really have to doubt if Romo returns to the starting lineup he will have the full support of this team nor do I doubt the players have rallied behind Dak and will continue to do so.

It's a nice luxury to let Romo be fully ready to go if needed. And I honestly don't think Sanchez is as bad as most do. Nothing to see here. Move along.

I'm hesitant to say this, but if you're going to start Romo, the time is VERY soon to do it. The later they wait, the worse it's going to be.
Completely agree 100%. They can't avoid this forever, and if they wait until closer to playoff time to put this "controversy" to bed, we may be creating distractions at the worst possible time.

Put him in, if he gets hurt that will be the end of Romo in Dallas. At least they gave him a shot and if he failed, then he can ride into the sunset.

Only 3 pages here concerning Romo not playing after he has apparently healed. Meanwhile, Rico Gathers and the OL has 5 pages and Randy Gregory's latest suspension is up to 15 pages. Looks like Romo really is becoming irrelevant. As long as Dak and the Cowboys keep winning Romo becomes less and less relevant.

It's settled. Dak is the guy. Said it in the season prediction thread before the year, DAK will start all 16 games.

Will you leave the board forever if he doesn't? Or will it just be another in the long line of people saying things that they themselves literally don't even believe?

No, I won't. I know this must be a tough process for you as you have always been a bigger fan of Tony Romo than the actual Dallas Cowboys. Take it from someone who's been right about this from the start, (even with people like you getting butt hurt) this is good for the team. Obviously they're 7-1 and a stable future now.

the team should just man up and tell the fans whats going on? is Dak the permanent starter the rest of the way or when Romo is ready will he go back in. seems to me they want to stay with Dak.

So when Romo is starting will you be rooting for him? My guess is no and you will be sulking about Dak.
