If he didn't go to Texas half the people wanting him wouldn't say a word. Again, there's nothing physical about him and he didn't make plays in the pass game. Well be the joke of the NFC to draft a safety in the first with as many safeties there are in this draft.
Sorry, but this is just asinine. He is rated around our spot by all kinds of national guys. I don't buy the regional bias argument at all. And he covered slot receivers and succeeded. His short area quickness is elite. 4.06 speaks for itself. He tipped some balls from zones and whatnot but mostly he was always playing SS/slot/nickelback and doing it well. Elam, Cyprien, Swearinger, Reid etc cannot do that. They were all asked to play that role too.
The claim that he is not physical is baseless. He diagnoses plays quickly and he attacks. If anything the knock is that he sometimes tries to be too physical and doesn't break down and make the stop. He whiffs, he doesn't get run over. Elam is better than he in this regard as he is just a more consistent taking on blocks and tackling. Headhunting hits from guys like you see from Swearinger, Reid and Thomas are just hype. They happen 2 or 3 times out of 600 snaps and in todays NFL draw 15 yard penalties.
Reid specifically goes to the Brandon Carr school of running behind the pile rather than stick your nose in there.
