Like this one in 1989. This is one of the best throws I have ever seen. Aikman was hit so hard he was bleeding out his ear.

Anybody that thinks Aikman was just an average passer never saw him play. This guy would have destroyed today's league with the way DBs now have to play. Brady sits all day in the pocket. Aikman in that pocket would be, with his accuracy, an unstoppable force.

Young fans can't really do anything but look at stats and make their assumptions.

If the Cowboys didn't have Emmitt, and had to rely upon nothing but the incredible OL and Aikman's arm, he would have put up INCREDIBLE numbers, but the team success might not have been there.

That said, I'm glad it worked out the way it did, but the youngins' who compare Romo's stats to Aikman's stats have no idea how special Aikman was.

And Romo looks goofy as hell. Aikman just breathed QB even in looks. He'd get a chick like Romo's wife while working at Mcdonalds, while Romo got her because he was QB of the Dallas Cowboys.

My favorite story about Aikman is about how he William Tell'd a water bottle off of Mark Tuinei's head from 20 yards out in the locker room area at Valley Ranch.

With how QB's are protected now, Aikman would be terrific.

Romo and his back have been the subject of speculation all year. His deep passes have been consistently short and people have speculated that maybe his back was still an issue. Tony and the team have been denying it all year, but I don't think him tripping over his own foot caused a back injury. I think it was already there and the odd twist that came with the tripping aggravated it. We all saw him grab at his leg, and saw him limping, but personal experience says the back is a likely culprit. A couple years ago, I had a back issue and had no pain in my back, but the pain I felt in my leg was pretty bad. The specialist I saw said he could make it quit hurting with a steroid shot but that would only be a temporary fix. Back surgery can be scary, but it fixed me completely. Tony doesn't have time for back surgery, but if the MRI shows a return to the field carries a chance of more severe injury occurring, he needs to call it a season. I have criticized Romo for saying, "it's just a game," but that was not a serious health matter. You only get one spinal cord, he needs to be careful.

He was such a leader, he NEVER compromised stats for winning, even while winning he didn't care to boost his stats. The job was done, it was done. QBs like Manning and Brady, while great, seem to play for stats as well.

Romo is tough and a competitor, but Troy has the edge in toughness. That guy took numerous hits in a tougher era. He stood in the pocket and took the hit as long as he could get a pass off. I wonder how Romo would have held up then

Sciatica can cause leg pain like this. Makes me wonder if he has a disc issue.

As someone who gets it down both legs at times, it's no joke. For a QB who relies on his legs to be his most effective, it must be a lot worse.

Troy Aikman had to face Jerome Williams, Reggie Williams and Clyde Simmons on one defensive front. Anybody that thinks Romo is tough, when he's never stared directly into the face of these men, has only heard stories of the past.

11 sacks… ugly. But he got back up and was better for it…
RIP Jerome Brown & Reggie White.

Yep man and definitely RIP. Sometimes I wonder how that death changed the picture of the Eagles. That defense was looking like a once in a lifetime type deal upfront, right before his death. I'm not sure they would have beaten the Cowboys as they grew, primarily cause they didn't have the offensive talent to match us. But they would have been a real force for us, probably more than the Niners.

I think Randell didn't have "IT" and that hurt the Eagles. Buddy didn't care enough about O…. and Ty Detmer and Ray Rhodes weren't as talented as the former.

on a side note.. Buddy cared enough for CC to cut him… Changed his life and career…

Yep... I was just thinking about it. Randall was a great regular season guy, but couldn't cut it in the playoffs. And Buddy Ryan probably would have self-imploded somewhere down the line. It was the Buddy Ryan years that were a scare defensively.

Bless you, brother.
I call you a good fan. I began to let the apathy creep in.
The anger to take over.
Not even this win over our HATED rivals to sweep the Commanders got me excited.
And this simple post did it. It turned me around.

The altruistic desire for OUR TEAM do simply win. Just a few more games.
Do something positive.

I am back in! I am ALL IN! They are going to beat those Eagles!

They are going to the playoffs and they are going to show that this not a team anyone should hope to play against.

Then they are going to take that and build upon it next year. Get better. Get healthier. And then...

Maybe, just maybe have a season we can be proud of.

Thank you. I, admittedly, am fickle so you may hear me be a punk here and there, but seriously... Thank you.

We are going to ride this out together.
