Troy Polamalu's hype just absolutely kills me.. if he had regular length hair and didnt have a couple good games in the playoffs last year, nobody would even know who he was.. the guy misses a ton of tackles and gets burned on a regular basis.. Ive watched plenty of Steelers games and know this to be true..

Ed Reed is good but he has been living off of one season for the past three years.. he has done absolutely nothing in the past two years, and if you go check out the Ravens' message boards, fans are wondering if he has lost it and are complaining about how often he is getting burned and how he never makes any plays anymore..

I would much rather have Roy than either of them.. I really am getting sick of the anti-Cowboys bias.. nobody EVER talks about Polamalu, Reed, or Taylor getting burned, but they do moreso than Roy.. but Roy is the one who sucks in coverage.. ridiculous..

Merriman/Ware is a wash.. it doesn't bother me that Merriman is on that list..

I'd rather have Newman than either Bailey or Hall, but they are both good too, so I dont mind them being on that list..

but I'm getting sick of the Reed and Polamalu lovefest..

Next to the microwave, I'd say the "Ignore List" has to be the greatest invention in recent history... :sshhh:

If it is "kinda like a hobby" for you, you are not a scout.

Funny that you should mention that the kid has "it". Just curious is that "it" the same thing Drew Bledsoe has?

I didnt' say I was a scout, but I do some scouting pro bono....I have some professional contacts around the league too that I keep in contact with when I travel for business.

As for Bledsoe 'having it', would he have lasted in the league this long if he didn't? ;)

Is Reed still the same player he once was?

Looking at his stats, he broke onto the scene with like 5, 7 and 9 INTs. He's had 2 INTs, 0 sacks, 1 forced fumble and 0 fumble recoveries in his last 16 games...

Granted, stats aren't everything. But I'm not exactly watching Ravens games every week, which is why I ask.

Will the Merriman hype go the way of Terrell Suggs?

Is Suggs still alive?

What is everyone's fascination with Polomalu? Everytime I see him, he is running all over the place not getting much done except having his hair fly all over the place.

I watch it on a big screen in high-def. So is my scouting on a grander scale?

According to ESPN, the top 10 D players are

Peppers, Stroud, Tommie Harris, Seymour
Urlacher, Merriman
Reed, Polamalu
Bailey, Hall

Bailey and Hall? They are big play corners that will make a pick after getting burnt the prior play. Teams don't even look at Newman, it's not worth it. No Roy?

How could Seymour be on the list he doesnt gets as many sacks as alot of other players?

(Sarcasm)

Sitting on your couch with football on the tube and a cold one in your hand does not equal scouting. You hype Bledsoe like a god, and you expect us to believe that crap?

This is even more reason why Newman should be on this list. I mean c'mon, Bailey and Hall. I give Hall credit b/c he has shown some skills. But Chump is so freaking overrated it's unbelievable. He jumps at everything, if QBs would just double-pump him he'd get beat every time. His picks are always thrown right into his chest, wow that must be tough. And we all remember TO breaking his legs, arms, and back on that juke last year.

Newman and Hall should be listed as the top 2 corners in the league.

That's homerism at it's best right there. Newman over Bailey??? You Can't be serious!

As a hitter RW is probably the best in the business right now....but he is a bit soft in coverage as we know.

I see very little difference in the performance of Roy Williams and Troy Polamalu. Both are top strong safties in the NFL. They both hit hard, are good run stoppers, decent in pass coverage and create turnovers. Oh and both have their fair share of penalties although I have seen more after the whistle hits/flags on Troy. If anything, I would say it is a tie if you had to rank all the strong safeties in the league. It may be biased to say that Roy deserves a slight edge, but there are some stats to back that up. If Troy is listed as a top 10 defensive player, then Roy should be mentioned right along with him.

I disagree, Bailey was great against Baltimore. I don't watch every single Denver game or anything but as far as I can see he's at least as good as anybody in the league. Hall otoh, by what I've seen, isn't really a shutdown corner like Bailey or imo TNew.
