Felix Jones practicing with brace

October 22, 2009, 11:29 AM

By: Calvin Watkins

Running back Felix Jones is practicing with a bulky left knee brace. One of Jones' best attributes, cutting, seems limited because he's wearing a brace.

Jones, who has missed the last two games, said he's working on his lateral movements with the brace to see how his leg feels.

"I'm able to run, work on my movements," Jones said. "That's why I've got my brace on, trying to get the feel of things with it on. Like I said, I explained it enough, every day it just feels better."

Why do I have this feeling that he's gonna reinjure himself this sunday.

I think Felix plays next week and sits this Atlanta game.

He should be the #3 back this week, and only be used if they get behind and desperate.

That doesn't make any sense. If he's not well enough to play, just sit him. This game isn't any more important than a handful of games left on the schedule.

Either he is healthy enough or he isn't. There should be no middle ground.

Unfortunately, that is not the case with this team. An injured Barber still gets the start over a healthy Choice who clearly is as productive as Barber, if not more. So I wouldn't be surprised to see Felix resume his traditional role and Choice left out in the cold.

Starting to get frustrated with Jones. I love his talent but it seems like he can't play through pain and little nagging injuries. I don't know how injured he is but pretty much every player has some sort of injury. It's only natural playing football but it seems to me like he has to be 100% perfect in order to get out on the field.

I saw him running on the news last night and he seemed to be running fine with the brace, he said it wasnt bothering him.

Felix the cat scan.

:laugh1:

Like Nick Eatman said, it's easy for people to say sit Felix or limit his touches, until he gets in the game and breaks a 60 yarder out of his first 5 touches. What do you do then in a game that you need to pull out.

Put the freaking guy out on the field if he's healthy enough:bang2:

honestly...if Felix plays and cannot be Felix....the what he adds can be had with the combination of Choice/Barber. I am not suggesting we can beat Atlanta without Felix...but what I am suggesting is that Felix at 80% is like playing with any other RB already on the roster. The Falcons are not good in pass defense....we have 2 TEs....and 4 WRs....and 2 other RBs....we have and will continue to score 24 points without Felix. If 24 points is not enough to win, we do not deserve to win.

Of course it didn't but no one cares. I guess they are too busy failing at being funny.

I agree with those who say that he is either healthy enough to go or he is not.

If he is not, let him get right. Without him, I don't think we have what it would take to beat a New Orleans or a Vikings team in the playoffs. With him, I think we give anybody a run for their money. JMO

They don't want to hurt his feelings.
