They are saying that Felix will play on Sunday, is that true? If he will be wearing a brace?
I would rather hold him out untill he does not need to wear a brace. I never had a knee injury in football, so I do not know how it would feel to wear on, or if it hindered you speed and quickness, or lateral movement, cutting ability etc.
I'm just saying, I would want Felix with no limitations, and if he can run and practice with a knee brace, then a couple of more weeks he will be able to go full strength without the brace.
He could tweak his knee again with that brace on and then be out for the rest of the season, I know the same thing could happen even if he waited a couple of more weeks and played without the brace, but at least he would be fully functional and that is a chance all football players take.

Barber and Choice can do the job untill he gets healthy, heck I would even let Barber rest, he can suit up to be the emergency guy, or to spell Choice, but I would let Choice handle the rock 95% of the game.

A lot of us are surprised at the acceptance of mediocrity in Valley Ranch............................ Felix hasn't proven jack **** yet. NFL reputations aren't built in college...

Its unfortunate he's been injured, but to say he hasnt proven jack yet isnt true either. The guys been unstoppable when he's on the field and is a big play machine. Production wise he's done the same thing in the NFL that he did in the SEC.

I do think many of you are going WAY overboard on this "injury prone" thing. Again, Irvin and Norton were basically hurt for 2-3 years before getting their careers going. Just because he's been hurt some early doesnt mean its going to be that way every year.

If Felix wearing a knee brace isnt the same Felix, why even bother playing him???

I mean, Felix at full speed adds an extra dimension to our offense that none of our other backs have, but if Felix cant cut with his brace then he is no better than Choice or Barber.

I agree with the other posters, if Felix is hurt bad enough that he cant play without a brace then he needs to sit.

Of course if he sits out, then there will be dozens if not hundreds of posts about how he is made of glass and wont play through injuries.

Its up to him, if he says he can go he should play. If its apparent when he's out there that he's favoring the knee or ineffective, I'm sure the coaches will pull him out and not use him.

As fyi though, its in either DMN or FWST today saying he practiced yesterday WITHOUT the brace, but right now intends to use it during the game. I'm guessing he is trying to gauge whether he really needs it or not.

Just sit him down 'til he's 100%. What's the point of risking further injury. Good grief

Two questions:

1. What exactly was the injury to the knee?

2. Can Felix contribute near 100%?

I think it was classed as a PCL strain and yeah, he could play at less than 100%. Its really up to him. How much pain is he in and how much does the strain limit his cutting ability.

I think he said the other day running in a straight line is fine.

Felix Jones practicing with brace

Running back Felix Jones is practicing with a bulky left knee brace. One of Jones' best attributes, cutting, seems limited because he's wearing a brace.

Jones, who has missed the last two games, said he's working on his lateral movements with the brace to see how his leg feels.

"I'm able to run, work on my movements," Jones said. "That's why I've got my brace on, trying to get the feel of things with it on. Like I said, I explained it enough, every day it just feels better."

a brace does not limit anyone's cutting

No one in the NFL is playing without something. Waiting on players to be 100% healthy before they play means you will be waiting a very long time to almost never.

I think it probably does, otherwise everyone would probably wear one whether they had an injury or not.

Aren't we already past that point?

He's glass.

Is there anyone who believes that after recovering from this injury he will play out the rest of the season without missing any more time?

So with your philosophy, we should just cut him today because he's never going to do anything right? I mean since he is hurt now and got hurt last yr, he'll never be healthy and always be injured. Why waste the roster spot.

Wade, in Friday's PC, just said that Felix practiced w/o the brace in the last practice. Wade said he looked fast, good, and moved well. While he practiced with the brace previously, he didn't use it the last practice. So, I guess he's going to play w/o it on Sunday.

 If the guy is not 100% healed up from a "pcl" sprain, strain, slight tear.. whatever you want to call it... he should not be on the field. Period. That's my opinion and it won't change. So don't mind me as I continue to believe our coaching staff and trainers are lacking upstairs.
