Who's we? he got a mouse in his pocket?

Who do you think wrote the article? Surely a journalist would be able to create some better piece to publish, so that only leaves the rodent in his....pocket.

No Witten? Guess he has Marty B penciled in for the Pro Bowl this year. List gets a little sketchy after number 7.

That's what surprised me too. No Witten?

This thread reminds me of an article I saw last year in which someone presented a list of Cowboys players that needed to have a good year for the team to be successful.

Romo, Ware, and Witten, among others, were on the list.

Um...duh.

No matter what a team offers, huh?

So if a team is stupid enough to offer us a first-round draft pick for Stephen Bowen, Calvin Watkins thinks we should turn them down? That would be almost as stupid as putting Bowen on the list ahead of Witten.

If the offer is good enough, there's no player who can't be traded.

As others have mentioned, I have no idea how he gets paid to write this garbage. The art of journalism is dead in the United States. We have devolved to a twitter/text message society.

Terence Newman

Keep disrespecting him.

I love it.

I hope they do draft a CB at 27.

Bring it on!!!

Who shut down DeSean Jackson, AKA: The Little Green Troll, three times last year?

Who shut down Steve Smith, again? Took one to the house when the game was in big doubt.

Who took care of Roddy White and TKO him late in the game? Message sent.

The "old man" did.

I feel ya bud but at $11mill next year he will get traded/released.

I wouldn't bet the farm on that just, yet.

Newman played under a below market contract for 5 years. Jerry will not cut a player like Newman. This isn't baseball, and the Cowboys are not the Oakland As.

He is going to make less next year, I think.

Releasing Newman would be a big mistake, and I bet it doesn't happen.

Top 5 picks don't grow on trees.

He's still a top 10 player at his position, at least.

Jenkins will not get a new deal until 2012.

Mike Jenkins just turned 25. He will be 27 during the last year of his contract.

Mr. Jenkins will be watching how the Cowboys treat Mr. Newman. I can assure you that.

IF Scandrick continues to improve and shows he can start AND we draft a CB this year who can start in the next three years, then Newman will become expendable considering his large contract. JMO.

He won't make $11 million next year. He'll make $8 million.

We have advanced to the most technologically advanced communicative society on the face of the planet with the ability to view anything from anywhere and make crystal clear phone calls to anywhere from anywhere as well.

So what do we do with it?

Where's Jason Witten?!

All due respect to my colleague Calvin Watkins, but it's a egregious omission to leave Jason Witten off the list of the top 10 players the Cowboys MUST keep.

We're talking about a 27-year-old who is arguably the best all-around tight end in the league. He's by far the best blocker among the elite pass-catching tight ends. He's Tony Romo's security blanket. He's the ultimate professional. He's locked up to a reasonable contract.

The Cowboys would be absolutely crazy to even consider getting rid of Witten. I'm wondering about my buddy Watkins' sanity after he left him off the list.

In fact, I'd put him third or fourth on the list.

Witten's blocking ability is a tad overrated... Bennett does a better job to me.
