Todd McShay did a mock draft update to include the Jets trading Revis to the Bucs for the 13th pick (and more).

http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/draf.../2013-nfl-draft-todd-mcshay-mock-draft-update

Possibly some knashing of teeth could result from this for teams wanting Tavon Austin.
McShay now has the Jets taking him at 13.

Would love for this to happen.

Even better, he has Dallas landing Sheldon Richardson at 18.

He had one really crazy pick though--Cleveland taking Tyler Eifert at 6 Not happening.
He had another semi-crazy pick (but one that could happen) with Buffaloe taking QB Ryan Nassib at 8.
Even with Austin going at 13 he didn't have Patterson going before 18.

He had both Guards and Fluker all going before 18.

Most of us likely don't subscribe to the insider and so cannot see the entire article. You cannot post the entire article but you can highlite the Jets picks.

I see a few players that could go higher
Patterson, Williams, and Rhodes for starters.
Guess we'll see, as there's always surprises.
Thursday can't get here fast enough.

I could see that happening.

Eifert-- TEs have been coming and helping teams right away. There will be someone jump on Eifert as he is far and away the best of this draft class.

Nassib-- I certainly don't love the guy but he played really, really well and did in the Northeast where teams like Buffalo and he Jets saw a lot of him. Outplayed Geno in the bowl game.

Pass rushers always rise. A lot in this mock but that's again not rare nor against form.

We need 2 QBs and 2 WR/TE to go before 18. Let is be so!!!

He doesn't have Geno Smith going in the first round? Am I missing something here?

While I think a 1 tech is more need, I don't think you need a great 1 Tech. I think Richardson will be an amazing 3 tech. I also think that is harder to get a great 3 Tech, than a good 1 Tech. I've confused myself.

Let me see if I can confuse you more. lol.

We've had 1 Techs here for years in the 3-4. We haven't had any 3 Techs.

At least by scheme. We played 5.1.5 along the front (Ware and Spencer were 7s) --admittedly Hatcher may have played some true 3 tech under Wade who allowed guys to just do what they do best scheme or no scheme.

Ratliff is a 1 and wants to die(or at least retire) a 1. Lissemore is a back up 1. Brent is an ideal 1 except he'll be in jail covering his number 2. But he may be back in a year. If we get 2 years of Ratliff, have Lissemore as depth and get Brent back in a year, 1 isn't really much of a need at all. Especially considering we have a bunch of 7th rounders doing the job.

In the Tampa 2, the 4-3 3Tech is the dude. He is the pass rusher and inside force. That's really, really hard to find. If you think Sheldon Richardson can do that and don't take him your(i.e. whatever GM) nuts.

End of the day if I saw Vince Wilfolk here as the 1 I'd jump on that. I don;t though. The best of the 1's is probably Sly Williams and to me he is a 1 who wants to be a 3.

I could very see Eifert going < 18 , just not at 6. The guy has Pro Bowl TE written all over him.

Nassib is a mixed bag. At least two fairly respected QB evaluators have him as their top QB. He's generally somewhere between 3rd and 5th among the 20-30 other analysts though.

Like they say, all it takes is one team.

I don't really see this happening. 3 Safeties in the 1st round? I don't see it.

Certainly fair imo to question a 6 for any TE much less Eifert but it is CLE picking and they seemingly start out with a top 10 every year. They did pick
Winslow at 6 though this is a very different front office.

Weird spot for CLE as they seem to have needs at OLB, CB and TE.

Ansah and Jordan are generally picked by 6 in mocks. Milliner is there at 6 in most but seems rated more around that 9-15 area.

This may be McShay predicting a trade down for the Browns. 6 should be a ripe spot for someone wanting that last franchise LT. If they do fall down in a swap with Arizona Efirt makes more sense in that Cards spot. (as would jarvis jones/mingo at olb; rhodes or milliner at cb)

End of the day though if I were looking at guys and saying who has the biggest drop off after him it would probably be Tyler Eifert. Ertz is generally mid 2nd round quality and rated the 2nd best TE.

So if I am conducting a Browns mock and need a starting TE I might be inclined to snag this dude a little earlier than he's rated. Making the game easier for Weeden has to be a must and with that running game play-action to a TE should be a gimme.

IMO not that shocking.

Considered a really strong Safety class that has only been rated largely 2nd rounders because there are 3 or 4 different ones with a very similar grade.

Once we move past the top 20 any of those top 4 or 5 safeties are fair game IMHO.

Personally I'd like to see Richardson there at 18 and a long wait on safeties so we get a guy like Elam at 47, Swearinger at 80 or Wilcox in round 4. But it wouldn't surprise me to be on here posting about my excitement over someone at 18 and see safeties start rolling off the board driving me crazy.

I cannot believe McShay gets paid to be a moron.

Kiper isn't much better. What always gives me a chuckle, is during the draft, they show "Mel Kiper's Best Available", and a round later, those top 5-6 players are still there. Good job Mel.

It could happen--especially Austin to the Jets at 13.

Would that make Austin the highest drafted slot receiver in history?
I think maybe so.

Desean Jackson went 49th
Percy Harvin went 22nd

No team in the NFL was willing to give up a 1st round pick this offseason for Victor Cruz--who is 4 inches taller and 25 lbs heavier than Austin...yet still runs a 4.45

If Tavon gets taken as early as some of us think, it will be a pretty big deal.
