Roger Goodell has decided to suspend Dez Bryant ...... just in case.

(unless he signs with the Patriots or Steelers)

Why? If he's not charged, then why punish him? For being accused?
There's no way we're going to know the truth of it, but on the surface if he can't be charged, he can't be penalized.

Because we were all told that in Goddells reign the players have to be held accountable and the coaches to a higher standard, and barring Spytriots little affair, players have to be held for shedding negative light on the NFL, those being Cowboys, and the like.

twice he put himself in the position to be accused, others guys aren't doing that.

He embarrassed the league.

That's a bit specious.
'In position'? What does that mean? Going to a club, talking to a woman? We all do that; being a famous QB doesn't mean he has to hide in his home for fear of being accused.

I wouldn't comment either way, but if he isn't being charged, there's nothing to be punished for. Assumptions either way aren't facts, and if simply being accused is worth being punished for, we're all in big trouble.

I can only envision a problem if Ben was warned to stay away from clubs after the 1st incident. You can't help who charges you for what crime.

I thought for sure he was guilty. Looked far too fishy.

But I agree. I don't think being accused is worthy of suspension.

And I totally agree with you about the "putting himself in position" angle.

I still think he did it but there's nothing you can do. If the system says he didn't do it, he did nothing more than every other person by leaving his house.

he put himself in position to be accused once.

I am sorry that I am the only one here who would NEVER put myself in that position again, if that meant no more drinking and partying then so be it.

he put himself int he position to be accused again.

The court of public opinion has deemed him "ruthlessraper," tell me how he hasn't embarrassed the league?

wah wah wah innocent till proven guilty, not when you are one of the faces of the league and you are twice accused of this behavior.

DA prolly up for re-election soon. DA's that waste alot of tax payer money on a high profile case they dont win, dont get re-elected.

Or he just expanded his bank account by 6 or 7 figures to "look the other way"

Most Da's are reluctant to prosecute high profile targets due to the intense media scrutiny the case will get. Couple that with the best attorneys money can buy and you can escape punishment for most anything. Those aren't STEADFAST rules, but pretty damn close.

Yeah, lets just shrug off that tidbit of constitutional wisdom and simply go by the hunches of people not involved with the case, in the 'court of public opinion'.

Whether the clown did it or not, he isn't charged with a crime, the league has no grounds to punish him. The leagues image is tarnished already, let's not pretend 'accusations' are making us forget the Carruth's of the league.

The league should forget about image and focus on football. Let the police and our system of law deal with criminals regardless of what they do for a living and stop pretending that their vocation matters.

so he should be able to get no punishment for twice taking a crap on the corporation he works for.

Make sense to me.

Give it a rest. Your job doesn't hold you to anything on your own time, and especially not hearsay, so stop expecting more from football players than everyone else. The corporation he works for is full of hypocrites, just like all corporations.
