Heres what I THINK could happen on draft day...........Jerrys been contacted by several teams about moving down in the draft according to one of the latest articles. I THINK one of those teams is the Chargers. Chargers want a reciever. Dallas moves from 22 to 30 "sandiego's slot" AND gives the Chargers a 3rd rounder next season. In return we get the 30th pick and Michael Turner. We then trade Julius Jones AND our second round pick to the Oakland Raiders for their second round pick. Pick 33. We end up taking Anthony Spencer at 30 and W.R Dwayne Jarrett at 33. Plus we also land R.B Michael Turner. Big question is.............Can Turner be better than Julius??? I DUNNO. Hope so. I do think he will fit the new scheme a little better though. This way we get the bookend passrusher we need opposite Ware, plus STILL land two offensive players who have a chance to be bigtime playmakers.

Not gonna happen. More draft nonsense.

Why would we want to trade away one of our young stars? :confused:

Carpenter then moves INSIDE to take over for Bradie the dimwit James while Spencer/Ellis attack from the left outside backer spot.

.......................Julius Jones is a GOOD/servicable r.b. But a STAR??? Nope, not even close.

You have a personal opinion, backed up by your hate for Julius.

I have statistics, proving otherwise.

You should take a closer look and compare Dorsett and Julius.

37 games @ 2896 yds = 78.2 ypg -> Julius [16 TDs] [0.43 TD's per game]

44 games @ 3432 yds = 78.0 ypg -> Tony D [25 TDs] [0.56 TD's per game]

Going by your opinion, Tony Dorsett is not a STAR.

The Julius' haters are hatin' on a good player!

Sadly there is no stat for how often you run into a pile or miss holes/cutback lanes. Stats don't always show everything. Now I do think that Jones will end up having a pretty good year, maybe even go over 1000 again, but at this point in his career with only one year just barely over 1000 yards you'd be hard pressed to call him a star. You can't use the Tony Dorsett example because he ran for nearly 12,000 yards in his career, including a 1600 yard season and it was his entire body of work that made him a star not just his first 44 games.

You also can't use it, because Dorsett in those first three years carried the ball 20 more times.

And he gained 500 more yards.

Mentioned that to enarrowmind yesterday, and he predictably ignores it.

This is an interesting trade scenario, but I don't see it happening. I don't understand what Turner's big appeal is (backing up the league's best back is a pretty swell gig) and even if his appeal is great you can find guys like him, Norwood, Jones Drew and Barber in the later rounds. No need to drop in the draft for that guy.

I like the way you are thinking and would LOVE to be the 1st to congratulate you if this is indeed true.

Um, does anyone else remember that the Raiders have Lamont Jordan AND they signed Dominic Rhodes this year? Something tells me trading for another running back isn't something they are going to want to do. Call me crazy, just my two cents....

Dorsett was a backup for his first 10 games or so.

The original idea has the Cowboys landing Turner, thus making Julius expendable. Nowhere does it say that Turner would go to the Raiders.

He was referring to Julius (a.k.a. "a running back") going to the Raiders. That was explicitly mentioned in this section:

We then trade Julius Jones AND our second round pick to the Oakland Raiders for their second round pick. Pick 33.

Right! We know what we have in JuJo with the "potential" for a break out year. As where we, as well as anyone else, does not know what they have or will get out of Turner.

JuJo is NOT a "Star".

And Turner > JuJo.

That said, the trade still isn't gonna happen.

Stats tell the truth.

He doesn't deserve the hate.

There is nothing in his stats to indicate he's a "Star". You're right, the stats do tell the truth.

And Turner > JuJo.
