I like the idea, though -- use the value of the move down to help pay for Turner. That value should be about a mid-low second round pick... I wonder how much else we'd have to give for him?

I don't understand this love affair with Turner either. I like the original posters creativeness though. It does solve a problem of getting two picks in the top 40 which has a good chance of netting two starters eventually. And two contributors this year as well. I'd be for it for that reason but only if Dallas is certain Turner will be able to carry the load. We've been lucky with injuries. If either Barber or Jones goes down we have a problem. Especially if JJ goes down. Barber probably won't last a year carrying the entire load the way he runs. JMO.

1. He's in a contract year and teams know that
2. No one would offer more than a 4th round pick
3. Our RB combo worked last season and it's the NFL's running style today
4. Our OL has been less than average (Leonard Davis will change that)

Its incredible that some of these guys would trade away a blue-chip RB, especially one that has shown impressive numbers for a young career.

1. Players in contract years get traded all the time. That wouldn't be a problem.

2. I agree. A 4th is the best we'll get.

3. It can get better. A lot better. MB3's role is about as good as it gets, but the starter can be a lot better.

4. Our OL wasn't less then average last season. It was maybe a hair above average. And I'm not convinced Davis will be an improvement.

...........Oh please. As Ive said before, I like Julius, think he's a GOOD NFL runningback. But to compare him to Tony Dorsett is beyond absurd. Not too long ago Tony D had the 3rd most rushing yards in Nfl history I believe, or was it 4th. Anyway, even though Julius is a good back he still couldnt SNIFF Dorsetts jock. I know, I watched Tony his entire career. Defenses had to game plan for him, td was a threat to take it to the house any time he touched the ball. As far as I know, NO NFL defense has that KIND OF fear for Julius. Just the truth.

Anything's possible. If I were a GM I'd trade anyone if I thought it was going to help the team. Jones is a good back. Jerry needs to be careful. Many seem to think Turner is a definite upgrade. Better be careful mucking around with what you think is a SB team. Upgrade the positions that need upgrading Jerry with an eye for the future. You can't have pets remember.
