Even Considering Drafting Jeanty is Insane

Dallas was in a different position in 2016 than now. They were a playoff team in 2014that was crushed by injuries the following season. The trenches were already established. The missing piece was the RB and they got the number #1 seed the following season, even with Romo out. No way I take Jeanty in a similar position this year because of all the position of needs. The Elliott draft was different, the belief was he would be the difference maker and he was but we couldn’t get passed Rogers and Elliott burned out rather quickly. Detroit took Gibbs 12th and would probably have taken Robinson if they had an earlier pick because that was the team need.

Our defense was outside of the top 15 in yards per game and points per game…they were a mess. We weren’t a serious contender bc our defense was bad.

This is my thought also..........you are exactly right. They thought Zeke was the one missing link to the Super Bowl and I have little doubt we would have made a serious run had Romo stayed healthy for the entire year. But as stated situation is different with Jeanty.......def not top 5 or 10 but after 10, depends on whose available.

It’s easy to play Monday morning QB. Elliott was the much better pro prospect coming into the draft and was unbelievable his first four years. No one could predict that his wheels would fall off and Henry would stay consistent.

Realistically the results of 2016 draft was terrible. Elliott was the right pick for that year and the results showed the first four years. In the long run would a combination of Henry and Ramsey been better probably. But Henry wasn’t that special at the start of his career and Dallas thought then were in a Super Bowl window with Romo. The issue was taking Smith in the 2nd with nerve damage. If we can go back how about Elliott in the 1st and Hargrave in the 2nd.

I was screaming for Hargrave in the 3rd.

The trade for the 2nd pick in the draft in 1977 to get Tony Dorsett produced a Super Bowl Championship. He was exactly what the doctor ordered. Right now, winning more games will cause us to lose out on this generational gem.

Ashton Jeanty is a generational type RB who will turbo-boost the Dallas lackluster offense. You all should watch his highlights. His stats do not lie:

In his last game, Jeanty finished with 169 rushing yards, including 53 on the game-winning drive. That is Emmitt Smith worthy.

This season, Jeanty has eleven 100-yard rushing games, eight games of over 150 rushing yards and four over 200 yards. With 2062 rushing yards through 11 games, Jeanty is in position to break Barry Sanders' NCAA single-season rushing record, set at Oklahoma State in 1988.

The next best RB is nowhere near his talent. I remember Michael Irvin and Alvin Harper used
to get big chunks of yards because defenses were more concerned with Emmitt Smith. Jeanty will launch the Boys offense dramatically.
