Even without the Dez play we could/should have been up 38-7

This is going to be a hard game to re-watch. If we play a pretty clean game and just make smart plays we could easily have been up 38-7. Hear me out. If we just get the first down at the end of the half and then kick the FG we are up 17-7. We stopped them on their 1st possesion of the second half and then Murray fumbles when Buck,Aikman and Tomlinson all say he would have scored a TD. Instead Green Bay then kicks a FG. We now should have been up 24-7. Murray does finish our very next possesion with a TD and that would have made it 31-7 (or even 31-14 assuming the Packers score a TD on their drive between Murray TD runs). We then force the fumble on the ensuing kick-off and Hanna has it right under him and then Patmon knocks it out. If we get that, I am almost certain we get another TD and very well could have been up 38-7 or at worse 38-14 and that crowd would have turned on the Packers big time.

We just made too many dumb mistakes and didn't take advantage of oportunities right in our hands. One of the toughest playoff losses I've seen and I've seen plenty.

There are two many variables to know what would have happened with the Packer offense but your list of mistakes was exactly what I've been listing in every post as to why we lost

3rd and 1, Murray fumble, Hannah non recovery all gave us chances to be up 2 TDs or more.

Agreed on all points. The game was ours for the taking and we were the better team.

Add it all up, and then that review fiasco, and it's pretty sickening.

This one will take a long while to get over, if ever.

Don't look at it this way or it will eat you up inside even more. We got beat...plane and simple. The severe lack of pass rush was truly devastating.

I don't know about that score lol but it shouldn't have came down to the dez play.

It's really not that hard to get to 38 points if we don't miss the kick, Murray doesn't fumble and we recover their fumble deep in our territory. Also we were really starting to pound them in the running game. This should have been a blow out and I have no doubt that we were the better team on the field much like Cowboys vs 49ers in the 1994 NFC Championship game.

The Dez catch was the final nail. Obviously the missed field goal, Murray fumble, and non recovery of Cobb's fumble was huge and contributed to the loss.

So what? We overcame our own mistakes to get robbed in the end. Should we devalue that fact that?

This is similiar to a point I made last night that we have to take advantage of the opportunity to score. This will eliminate the risk of having plays overturned that can change the outcome of the game. We set outselves up and truly got burned when it was likely preventable.

You are correct. But the bad call was not the only reason. We should have had a big lead at that point.

It doesn't matter. Football is a game that is played 60 minutes. Dallas made mistakes, that they themselves overcame. GB didn't allow them, Dallas did it by themselves and it was impressive. They didn't fold and marched back up the field every time. Murray fumbled, yet he scored on the very next drive and had an impressive run to score. Romo never lost composure. Witten made catches to keep drives alive and Dez came up big.

And they got hosed by the refs. This whole thing about should have dominated is an obfuscation of the hosing job that happened.

They didn't overcome them. THEY LOST THE GAME! If we had won the game I would agree with you, but our own very correctable mistakes gave it away before the bad call at the end.

Its a total loss by the team. Offense and defense didnt do enough and they made to many mistakes and missed too many opportunities. Shouldn't have came down to the catch. Dallas lost fair and square. The pack played better than dallas did yesterday even with a hobbled rodgers. The boys didnt bring their a game and mistakes cost them the game.

The pass rush was fine. Rodgers is just very difficult to sack.

Ppl can say he was hurt all the want...he looked pretty elusive to me, particularly in the second half.

It looked to me like Rodgers' calf started loosening up just before halftime. His throws were on target at that point and their offense was unstoppable after that.

GB had the advantage in playoff experience and savvy in big games - and it showed yesterday particularly towards the end of the first half, and from the latter stages of the 3rd quarter onwards.

If these two teams were to play 10 times, I honestly believe Dallas wins about 7. But that does not matter in the NFL.

We'll agree to disagree then.

An above average pass rush would've sacked Rodgers about five times yesterday and gave him more trouble than ours did.

And I do believe he (Rodgers) is injured. If he was able to scramble at all, I doubt, with the way things went, the Cowboys would've been competitive.

The defense played as well as it could all season, so hats off to them.

All 4 conference championship teams had a close game in the 4th quarter.

To expect us to be up 31 points at Lambeu is silly. You can't assume we make every single play correctly and the other team doesn't make plays.

We battled, played mostly well and had a chance late. We were underdogs for a reason.
