so with timmy, mavs > spurs?

and like i said, in the other thread, the mavs suck right now. there are plenty of teams right now better than the mavs.

haha, come on DW, lets not get carried away, its only early december, but at least it keeps us undefeated at home, which is what i cared most about, good win for us though.

ps on a sour note, bruce bowen played like crap and finley is tuning the ball over too much! elson and oberto also need to stop with the dumb fouls

how did you come up with that one? i told you in that other thread that you took a sample that has recently favored the mavs, but over a larger sample youd see its closer. i believe when the spurs and mavs play each other, its a close matchup mainly because the mavs are built to beat the spurs. however as the spurs have proved, we are a better team because we can beat any team in the league, if you need proof of that, here is some...

I look at the Duncan injury as an opportunity (like the Rodeo Road Trip) for this team to come together and prove its mettle under trying circumstances. I'm proud of them for getting a big win like this without him. I think it shows the maturity and focus of the team.

Sadly, I was unable to watch the game. It wasn't on TV in my area. I had to watch the stats on ESPN gamecast, and that's pretty rough.

i said over the course of the season (if the mavs played 82 games with the spurs), the mavs would win .6666 of them.

true, and it was a great come back in the third quarter too, i thought they were just gonna call it a day like in the first game with the mavs.

because i think the mavs match up very favorably against the spurs.

the only evidence i can state is that since avery took over, the mavs are .6 against the spurs in the regular season . including the playoff series, the mavs are .58 against the spurs in 17 games.

ok.

so maybe, the mavs won't go .666, but i think they'd definitely go more than .500 against the spurs.

thats a fair argument, but remember that the spurs dont care about the regular season as much as the mavs do, or at least have before.

My Horse in this race is the Celtics.

Spurs are the best of West and who I am gauging us against in finals.

The Spurs really turned it on in the 3rd quarter. For some reason Dallas has a tendency to give up a lot of backcourt points, despite Avery's emphasis on defense. Parker and Ginobili burned them tonight.

Did Avery get his jersey raised at the Alamodome during this game? I seem to remember him reading about that in the offseason but wasn't sure which game in San Antonio it would be (and come to think of it, it might not have been a Mavs/Spurs game).

I'm a Suns fan but I'm not afraid to admit the Spurs are arguably better than they were last year. Unless one of their big 3 suffers a major season ending injury, they are going to repeat. Phoenix just got smaller

and then when the season turned to april the mavs would win about .0001 of them.

i was at the game....it was so great seeing how deflated the mavs fans were. couldn't even win without duncan and dirk choking like it was a golden state or miami heat game.
