Fully realize owners can do/say what they want but sure am fed up to constantly read Jerry or Stephen comments/fireballs re Claiborn, Dez, etc. Do they think such comments will inspire the players? or do they just like to read their names in the news? Had higher hopes for Stephen if/when he ever takes over and really run this team. Frankly, he now sounds like carbon copy of Jerry--very disapppointing.

Packers (2), Broncos (2), Rams (1), Pats (3), Steelers (2), Giants (2), Bucs (1), Colts (1), Ravens (1) have won SB since our last win in 95. Yet none of their owners/GMs have the egos/big mouths like the Jones family. Guess the Jones family don't believe/follow the old rule-- put up or shut up.

Just want to see the Cowboys win at least 1 SB with Romo, Witten, Ware, Ratliff, etc. But where added defensive players indicate our defensive performance will make big improvement, our interior OL (with so many injuries) has the makings of a disaster.

I guess deal with it. If they win no one will care. Jerry or Stephen making comments is not winning or losing ball games for us but they do own this franchise

It's probably deliberate, and might even be at JGs request. I've noticed it, too, and don't think such a public posture suddenly is a coincidence.

Funny part is no one ever told Tex to shut up and yet Tex was highly visible and very talkative. Heck he had his own show right after the Tom Landry show. When Tom did not like the label America's Team it was Tex who went out and promoted that label.

I loved listening to the Tex Schram show......I won a nice 25 year Dallas Cowboys anniversary book......great photos of the team and players.

I really doubt Jerry or Stephen pick up the newspaper or log on to the internet to see their names or read or hear what is being said.

And they probably don't care either.

People are going to have their own opinions on them and how they run the team, what they say or don't say. Rather those persons opinions are good or bad, love or hate. They are usually based from their own personal ideas and beliefs on life it self, through their own eyes.

Their can be many of phisophical debates on that opinion, but this is not the place for that.

Just live with it and accept it. Complain, but it won't change....

I still would not want another owner.

I did as well. I liked Tom Landry show but I swear no matter who we were about to play after Tom talked about them you would think we were playing one of the best teams in the NFL. Of course in Toms pick segment on the games of that week he when asked who would win the Cowboys game he would say well I guess I will go with the Cowboys on this one. :laugh2:

Tom had a very dry personality and that is how his press conferences were as well but people did not seem to mind back then as they do now.

First off, why the heck is this passe expostulation cluttering up the News Zone?

Now, on to business:

Here's Bill Polian talking about Peyton Manning's injury:

http://www.stampedeblue.com/2011/11/...-colts-in-2012

Here's Scott Pioli going before NFL Networthless and talking about the Chiefs injuries:

http://www.kcchiefs.com/media-center...0-6f6392af849e

Here's the Giants' GM Jerry Reese talking about injuries and also giving a scenario as to whom will replace the injured player in question. Can you imagine if Jerry Jones did that? It would be him "meddling" as a coach. Yet when Jerry Reese does it, no one says a word:

http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/gia...me/jerry-reese

Here's Bruce Allen talking about the Commanders' injuries last season:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...yulN_blog.html

Here's Trent Baalke giving an update on Michael Crabtree:

http://www.sfgate.com/49ers/article/...ry-3745080.php

Here's Marty Hurney, another one in the league GM camp who knows more about journalism than football, talking injuries:

http://blogs.charlotte.com/panthers/...e-surgery.html

Here's Crackers GM Ted Thompson talks about injuries:

http://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/...-Bishop-injury

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100...eason-injuries

Here's another example from one of the East Coast mediots' favorite franchises of a frickin' owner not only "meddling" but also giving preventative injury advice. Here's the Steelers' Art Rooney II:

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d...o-change-style

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/story/1...unsteelerslike

Do yourself a favor and follow other teams. Don't let the mediots follow them for you.

But much of the commentary is contradictory to what the head coach wants.

Yea, they used an 8mm projector to review and discuss the games

You would see the same play shown and stopped over and over as Tom would break it down. :D

That's hilarious. Yes, JG specifically asked Jerry to talk a lot to the media and Jerry humbly obliged, like a good assistant.

Jerry is becoming old and senile and he drinks a lot. He is incredibly arrogant and narcissistic. And he has deluded himself into believing that he is directly responsible for any success this team has, despite the fact that it has had virtually none for nearly two decades. He did it with Parcells -- once the team started looking like it was improving, he jumped in and said "Look at me! Look at what I've done!" I think it really rubbed Parcells the wrong way and he bailed.

The Texans last two GM's have had their own radio shows here in Houston.

Casserly and now Rick Smith.

So was there a point to all this

I had no idea when I was a kid that "The Beverly Hillbillies" was actually a documentary.

The Jones family is a prime example of what happens when hillbillies win the lottery.

Yeah they won the lottery? :lmao2:

Jerry is not a dumb man he did not get to where he is out of luck and he certainly did not inherit his wealth. Hillbilly? yeah right.

Irsay doesn't have a big mouth? Kraft? Ted Thompson? Glazer?

C'mon now...

Yes, that is the unfortunate truth. It is unfortunate because it will not bring the team any closer to success. It is like we made a deal with the devil. He told us we would have success beyond our wildest dreams, and we did, in the form of three SBs in four years. But as payment, he would take it all away, and we would enter a dry spell that would last for a thousand years.

This team is cursed.
