Loses the next week. Or goes on a big losing streak. VERY interesting.

We are everyone's superbowl

We must be if Payton got a Gatorade bath last week. That was a bit premature, wouldn't you say?

That really is fascinating.

I can't figure out why, but it has consistently happened all season.

What teams have done this? I know it has happened but i dont think its that surprising.

(i dont know what these teams did after dallas for sure) but...

Jax - always inconsistent
NYG - was better than us at the time
Was - beat us in WAS in a divisional game
Philly - had no business beating us

The saints are the only good example of this that i can think of. I dont get how they stomped us and lost to washington...

It's been said that we are a mentally "taxing" team to play.

Philly beat us then lost 4
Giants beat us then lost 2
NO beat us then lost

Despite what people think, I believe it speaks to how well Peyton and Gibbs know our team and how we play/plan. Add to that the former Cowboys on the Saints and it was goodnight, Irene.

That being said, I don't think they could do that to us again.

Faerluna, your Santa Julius avatar is just the cutest thing. I hope it's an omen of how he will perform on Christmas Day/Afternoon/Night.

Philly at that time had McNabb off to an MVP type start. Things started to fall apart after that and then he would tear his knee. But I think we were better then Philly but McNabb makes that team so much better when he plays like he did against us.

Thanks - Julius said he was feeling festive! ;)

I already tried this angle and was shot down for it. For the record, I agree with you.

In my opinion all of our losses except the one to Jax, was a combination of the two arguements. The teams that beat us Giants, Eagles, Saints, and Commanders all know our team very well one way or another, plus 3 were divisional games so those are always tough because you know they're going to gear up to play their best football against us. And the Payton and his crew of former Cowboys definetly had an extra motive to beat us and play extremely well. The Jax loss was just a case of playing a good team and we just didn't step up when we had every chance to win the game.

Are we everybody's "superbowl"? I doubt it, but teams do seem to play us hard, and that's a good thing means we're a dangerous team. Now we just have to match that and still beat them.

no wait lets not forget the Saints lost because of the BLUE PRINT!!!

Yeah, like Parcells' gatorade bath when we beat the giants a couple years ago? It was a big win for a head coach returning to the place where he made a name for himself; I'd say Payton's win was a lot more impressive/noteworthy than Parcells'.
