Check the execution level of the plays and the mistakes made by players.

If the QB misses the mark, the receiver drops it, a block is missed, a tackle missed, a coverage blown, is that on the coaching?
Yes

I would assume this happens with every team in the league

This happens to every team. We just happen to get most press about it.

I could do this about a lot of players, but I'll pick on Dak since he's the talk of the week.

"Best shape of my life"

"Slimmed down"

"More zip on his passes this year"

"Better understanding of defensive coverages"

Yada, yada, yada.

Did anyone see any evidence of any of that?

He looked like the same, stiff, erratic, shotput throwing Dak we've seen for years. There was no extra "zip" on the ball, and he plodded around like he always does.

The Cowboys are so much talk and hype about their players with so little proof in the pudding.

This franchise grows more tiresome by the day.

Consider who is saying this junk every year: Jerry, Jethro, or the players on the team complimenting each other.

Yeah they fall for it every time.

We pretty much live the same year over and over.

This is not a football team, it is a consumable product and marketed as such.

The owner is not a salesman; he is a pitchman leaving those willing to close themselves.

The players are also expected to be willing pitchmen, just like Prescott and Parsons.

This is the greatest example of polishing a turd in sports history and so many contribute to the cause of the Joneses that it shows no signs of even slowing down.

So................in essence.......................what you are say is...

According to Jerry everyone including Dak looked better than he’s ever seen them. Every time they asked McCarthy about a player he always said they’re having a great camp. Camp positive!
Somebody needs to get the old man's shower pass.
