Everybody Commit Holding

Rule change is about to happen where the opposing team will have option to accept offensive holding and continue the game or end it.

Great way to make sure nothing crazy happens.

They did that in the superbowl against the 49ers to end the game... but Not quite as obvious as this time

I am drawing a blank on who it was, but another team did this to all the receivers on a team before the half.

There was like 14 seconds left in the half and the team was on around the 10 yard line.

The defense grabbed all their WRs so they couldn't get a TD, the clock ran down to around 6 seconds, the defense got a 5 yards penalty but the offense had no TOs so they had to kick a FG.

Harbaugh was a special teams coach. Probably wanted to do that for years. Brilliant.

Look for more teams to try this, much like when teams started to copy the ice the kicker. Lame.

lol i'm pretty sure they didn't call a hold in the Superbowl.

the qb was in the end zone when they tossed the flag. should of been a safety

The play did end in a safety when he ran out the back of the end zone.
But the rule is that it's a safety only when the holding penalty itself is committed in the end zone, not just holding on a play where the QB is in the end zone.

good catch. I misunderstood the rule.

That was a brilliant call by John Harbaugh. Utilize the rules to your advantage.

It's more amazing that no Bengals could get past the holding at all.

I don't remember if they called the penalty. It was at the end of the game with hardly any time on the clock. Don't you remember 49ers coach Harbaugh crying about it after the game ?

lol as he should have been.

Credit to his brother though for bending the rule. I have no problem with it.
