I keep thinking about next offseason and it doesn't seem like we will have much money to sign/resign guys. Imagine having 10 guys go to the pro bowl.....wow. This future offseason keeps haunting me and I just wonder how we are going to get it done. Murray, Dez, Free, Parnell, a real backup QB, Melton, a DE, Spencer, McClain, Carter, Durant sure I am missing a few but it is one scary offseason. I think the main guys we should concentrate on are obviously Dez and McClain.....then in the order of Murray, Melton, Free......the latter two only if we can get a good reasonable deal for them.
Man oh man, we really need to hit on the next draft.

Going to the pro bowl may be incentives in this years contracts for bonuses. But if a player thinks by going to the pro bowl will have an impact on signing a big contract next year. It may seem to matter, but I don't think they count on that.
But who knows, I'm sure someone will use that as a bargaining tool.
But teams already know everything they need to know about a player by this point. IMO it doesn't matter.

Vote to get our players in.....they deserve it....

We play the Giants Sunday night. All those worries are a couple of months away.

Here's how I see the off season.

Most of us fans, the experts and even the Cowboys brass figured this was going to be a down year, ie 6-10, 7-9, 8-8. Cowboys will probably go at least 9-7 and maybe 10-6 or 11-5. Any of those records would be a very promising year to JJ and crew. With that and JJ getting up there in years, I have no doubt, we will keep every player they want to keep.

I think we'll be fine. I think our biggest priority will be resigning Ronald Leary. He's considered one of the top guards in the league already. Hopefully teams are still scared of his knees to not throw big money at him. We might have to match a huge contract to resign him.

We can always slap the franchise tag on Murray. See if he repeats next year then slap it on him again. You don't give a 26 year old RB a long-term contract.

Dez will be expensive but I think we'll get it done.

I think someone might be willing to give Parnell a surprisingly high offer. He has physical upside and looked good in limited time on the most elite O-line in the league. Teams overpay for players on elite units. There hasn't been a more elite unit this season in the NFL than our O-line. You don't think other teams realize that Leary, Free and Parnell will all be available? Someone will be willing to pay. I just really hope we don't lose Leary. Our O-line could take a huge fall if we do. He's that good.

And I also want to keep Melton. Two stud 3-techs is a must in Marinelli's D, and Melton plays a lot of SDE too. I don't care about guys like Spencer and Selvie. We can easily replace them, and we should.

The top 5 guys I really want to see back in order are:

1. Leary
2. Dez
3. Melton
4. Murray
5. Free

Is this a thread requesting forum members to stop voting Cowboys players into the Pro Bowl? Or is this a rhetorical thread based on a belief too many NFL fans may cast too many Pro Bowl ballots for Cowboys players? The former would have a near negligent effect on the final outcome. The latter would occur without having ever read the thread. I am not sure which message to support more. How about I play it safe and vote for Cowboy players then feel bad about it afterwards?

There's no use, man. You can't keep studs like Jeremy Parnell out of the Pro Bowl.

FTW.

in the response to the OP, I doubt players making the pro bowl we be a determining factor on whether or not we can afford to keep them. The front office and the player agents knows how well tthey preformed and where their contract parameters are in relations to their performance. Look at Romo's previous pro bowl snubs didn't prevent him from getting a +$100k contract
