Everyone seems OK with the loss... Im not

Amen. I mean I understand wanting to win but Jerry is right not to make an emotional decision after a blow out.

Not really sure when Jerry has failed to make an emotional decision. He canned Jimmy after Jimmy had an awesome blowout in the SuperBowl.

It doesn't matter that you or me or any other fan is "OK" with the loss or not. Your attitude, positive or negative, will not influence anything about this team. The only leverage that we, as fans, have, is that we're free to root for whatever team we want. Me, I'm sticking with Dallas. Been a fan since '60, no need to change now!:)

I'll always stick with the Cowboys but let's not sugarcoat the loss or the reasons for it.

I think the only way you can fire Wade is if: a) you are certain this team has significant limitations that can never be corrected with him as a head coach; or b) you're leaning toward believing that, and there is a coach on the market who you are certain is what this team needs.

I'm highly in favor of keeping Wade, but I don't think there's any way you can fire him and then conduct a long, exhaustive search just hoping to find someone better.

I'm good with Wade but he needs control over his OC. I'm not sure about JG.

I have said numerous times I wish Wade were only the DC, I know that is not possible, for coaches like Wade and Norv I believe that DC and OC is their ceiling. The clock is ticking on the primes of Ware, Witten, and Romo. For others on the roster it is time to move on.

Yes what's your point? We were not 13-3 in 1989 were we? This is not 91. This is 2010, stop it.

The point is that you don't make a decision based off one bad loss in the playoffs. You have to look at the progress of the team in its entirety. Are we better off than we were last year? Are we better off than we were at the beginning of this year? Are we better of than we were halfway through this season? Is the team in position to be better next season? Those are the questions on which you base your decisions, not a bad game in the playoffs.

I think I'm just used to it now(I can't believe i'm saying that about this franchise). this is Jerry's team and lose is what it does.

Ditto, this is jerry team and basically he is the head coach. If you listened to the press conf by wade, wade was asked about a play on offense, and wade eluded to he has nothing to do with that. That wasnt his call. Jerry wants to be the head coach but he knows he is better off letting a offesive coordinator run the offense and a defense coordinator run the defense, that way when fans get upset they are mad at either wade or jason garrett basically. So, in reality jerry is passing the buck so to speak, but he still is calling the shots behind closed doors.

Proof, example, our field goal kicker, it took jerry jones to force the issue with folk after wade kept saying he had faith in folk, and folk continually missing fgs. Then, jerry had wade do something. Jerry said just this week, the field goal issue is the way it is and were stuck with it, so bottom line, thats on jerry, not wade or jason. Jerry went on to say in a press conf after the game on field goal kicker, that they saw that suisham couldnt kick any fgs beyond 44 yards, but it was what it is. So, let that sink in for awhile, and wade saw that in pregame practice by the field goal kicker suisham, and wade still had shisham kick long field goals past his range. So, it is what it is!

So, like the guy said, your kinda numb to it now, and there is nothing really you can do about it. Sure, I would rather have a head coach like ryan, you have seen what his defense has done this year, as a first year head coach, did wade do that his first year here? NO!

It is what it is, maybe we can get lucky next year, pull off a trade or 2, get another impact player like we did with charles haley and thomas everett in 92, etc, and a good draft.

It just baffels me how a team that seemed to be so hot going into an important playoff game can look soooooooo bad, almost Rams/Lions bad, it almost seems like there was money on the game and the team just folded...either that or Garret just wants Wade to fail so he can step into the role. I just dont get how a team can just flat out suck when it had 2 shutout games not even a month ago.

I don't think any of us are OK with losing today. No Cowboy fan here wanted to lose this game but it's my opinion that you have to have a level head and be very cautious when you talk about making large sweeping changes.

Let me give you a quick example. My college team is the University of Michigan. I watch every Wolverine game just like I watche every Cowboys game. A few years back when we had Lloyd Carr as head coach I was very critical of him. I didn't think he was taking advantage of the talent on the roster, that he was being to conservative, not motivating the players correctly, etc. Pretty much all the criticisms we have of Wade. I was thrilled when he decided to step down as head coach and usher in a new era of Michigan football. What I got from the next head coach was the first losing season in 40 years and the worst season in school history followed by yet another losing season. 3-9 and 5-7 back to back.

The moral of the story is that change doesn't come without risk and the old saying that the grass isn't always greener on the other side is true. Maybe we do get rid of Wade and go on to win championships but maybe we get rid of him and have a Michigan effect. Obviously this is a doomsday scenario and any such event probably wouldn't be as severe as Michigan but it's the reason that any changes have to be made only after careful consideration.

I don't think we need sweeping changes at all and everything should be given consideration. My point is the team played today (from coaches to players) like they were happy just to get the playoff money off their back last week. We forgot to show up TODAY.

I am not sugarcoating the loss. I didn't like it either. I only pointed out that no matter how much you or I or any other fan rant, the rant has no bearing on what goes on within the Cowboys organization. That much I learned to accept long ago.

Were you a fan in 1991?

How in the world people compare this Cowboys team to the budding Cowboys dynasty in 1991 is beyond me?

Watching the Cowboys in 1991 you knew something special was brewing after that Chicago playoff win with Emmitt, Aikman and Irvin, not to mention Jimmy Johnson.

Can anyone honestly say they have that same feeling with this team, coached by Wade Phillips?

I know some people have a glass half-full mentality and look for silver linings in another end of the season, blow-out, embarrassment but comparing this team and this franchise to the 1991 budding dynasty is crazy talk.

I'm not happy about the poor showing of the players who screwed up, but I knew this game would be very hard to win and had they won then playing the Saints again would be hard as hell too.
I take from this that
They swept the Egals 3 times
They swept thje Skins
They showed up big in a playoff game and thats progress
Spencer could be a BEAST next year across from a healthy Ware
Miles broke out in a HUGE way
Romo has played great and taken a definite step after that rough 2nd game
Free is a player
The ST with a fieldgoal kicker and maybe a return specialist(?) is light-years better
Jenkins has huge upside

There's much more....

I am not Ok with it. This is a sport and a business. I don't get married to the coaches, sorry just not me. Jerry has been patient but he has to make a move. HEADS NEED TO ROLL. This was a very embarrassing loss. The final was 34-3. 34-3 Really? Are you kidding me 34-3? We laid down like dogs, we were destroyed and there are zoners who want to talk about their sentimental feelings for the coaching staff. That attitude is the exact reason why we lost the way we did. You are content with a playoff win, why? Cuz the media said so? Because we have not won a playoff game in 13 years? Who cares, really. What matters is THIS game and our weakness in coaching and personnel were EXPLOITED. Poor O-Line play, very questionable play calling, and a HC/OC power struggle showed its face. You think the locker room is fine and dandy? Can't be. It's better without T.O. and the convicts but all is not well. Hey you guys want to stay positive? FINE, then let's make the necessary changes to progress the team to a championship team and lets get real about it.

We were beat today like the Giants beat us in 2007. We were beat today like we PHI beat us last year. We have problems when we get behind and we have problems with good front fours. It's unacceptable to me as a fan to get beat in this fashion with the talent we have on the football field (this is a coaching problem, sorry). Winning the NFC east means nothing when you play like we did today. TODAY is what matters and we leave the season a badly beaten football team, this was a blowout. We lost our fight in game to advance to the NFC Championship, how does that happen? Losing like this... in this kind of game is NOT ACCEPTABLE anymore. Im sick of the excuses (oh we won a playoff game last week). We were punched in the mouth today and we did not punch back, that bothers me JG. Attitude is everything. IF we accept defeat because of past accomplishments then we have the attitude of losers which was what we had today. HOW EMBARRASSING.

...the offensive line got destroyed...the Vikings won the battle...if Dallas had won the battle against theirs then we would'nt be sitting here contemplating the aftermath...you don't waste early red-zone opportunities, fumble, miss field goals and expect to win on the road...Minnesota won the turnover differential and protected the ball when they had it...this is why Dallas was able to knock off San Francisco in 1992...had Dallas not taken advantage of the turnovers the 49ers gave to them throughout the game then they would'nt have won...those two teams were too evenly matched in the first meeting...SF had 4 turnovers...Dallas none...today...Minnesota had 3...Dallas none...

...it's darkest before the dawn my friend...when 11-5 Dallas got trashed 38-6 at Detroit [led by Erik Kramer] in 1991 you would'nt have thought that they'd return the favor on the road 10 months later at the Silverdome 37-3 en route to the Superbowl...just saying...

Stop with the common sense. They can't see the comparison is not about the 1991 and 2009 teams but that you can come back strong from a play-off beating like this to tske the next step.

Everyone gets so up in arms with the 1991 2009 comparison. Yet half these idiots where in grade school in 1991.

This team is better than the 1991 team and requires far fewer upgrades to compete for a SB.

Like I said earlier, the 1991 team was far from great, and it ended the season in a blowout embarrassment. This year's team probably would have beaten that team handily if they had met in the playoffs.

Even though that team lost 38-6 in the playoffs, it came back the next season, added A LOT of players and took another step forward. There's no reason this year's team can't take another step forward next season, too. We have a lot of great players in their prime and a lot of young guys on the verge of becoming stars or who just became stars (Austin, Felix, Jenkins and Spencer, to name a few). How good can we be if those guys play all next season like they did in the second half of this season? Good enough to compete for the Super Bowl? Of course we could. The Saints were a last-place team one year ago, and now they're hosting the NFC title game. The Vikings went 10-6 and lost their wild-card game by double digits. The Colts didn't win their division, then lost their wild-card game. The Jets didn't even make the playoffs. None of those teams last year were closer to competing for a Super Bowl than we are today, but they all took a big step forward this year. We did, too, and now we need to take another one next year.

I dont think anyone is okay with it. Most are happy to finaly get that december and playoff thing off our back but not okay with the loss. This team needs work but so does every other team or someone would have been undefeated. Today things didnt go our way... Thats how it goes sometimes. Next season they will had learned from this loss like they do every year. They will be wiser and ready to go deeper into the playoffs.

We ended it the same way we did in 2007 just we won a Wild Card game to get the same spot.

The diference is most the core has been there already under Bill and the Seattle lost then the the following year with the Giants, then we missed the playoffs so this should be 92 because the core has been there
