Ex-Cowboys that Could Come back to Haunt Dallas

See, there is some Dallas talent that is playing elsewhere. Everyone is forgetting Antonio Bryant apparently. Could he be another Jimmy Smith? I know the circumstances are different, but can he have the kind of career Smith has?

What I am hoping more is that some of the players we stole can punish the teams that let them go. Henry, Glenn, Ferguson, Rivera, Price. Now that is what I am talking bout!

isn't it ironic how Emmitt's last game in Texas stadium was his first game with negative rushing yards.

Reggie Swinton is now on the cardinals and we all know what he can do on punt or kick returns.

The Rams have a 3 time pro bowler by the name of Dexter Coakley

Bingo!

You've got it D94! I'll spell it out for some of the others ...perhaps this ananlogy will put this post in perspective ...

How many times have you walked up to a grocery store cashier's line, only to notice that the line immediately next to you is moving faster. So, you abandon the line you're in and move to what was assumed to be a shorter line, only to discover that the line you were started to move even faster than the one you moved to.?

How many times have you approached a toll road both trying to jockey for the shortest line and finally picking the line where the cars in front of you needed change for big bills -- hence delaying your transition through the booth?

Chance? Coincidence? Irony? Happenstance? Luck of the draw? Human nature? Who knows! But all of know circumstances when a mediocre player former player of one team, goes to another team and becomes a threat or pro bowler.

No, it does happen in all instances, ...but more often than not. And even when it doesn't happen, that former player seems to play harder against the team that let him go.

Sure, I hear you talking! Good point -- it certainly could work both ways! And in the examples you provided, it probably will (I hope not against the Eagles):

The guy that the Eagles may face right away is Derrick Burgess. He had a very average regular season (was returning from an injury) but he looked unstoppable in the playoffs. They'll face him week 2 against the Raiders.

If you want to pull a former Cowboy out of the hat, I'd pick Keith Adams. He went from special teamer to starter when he jumped to the Eagles. I still think he's not starting quality, but Jim Johnson seems to think he is.

And are we forgetting that dominator that left Dallas for a team that is a winner? Yep, the one and only Brandon Noballs.

It is extremely rare for me to worry about facing a player that Dallas has let go. There have been exceptions, exemplary kinds of players. In all honesty, unless I am having a a memory lapse, there is not one former Cowboy on another team's current roster that I fear, regret losing, or dread facing this year.

Except Quincy Morgan in the Super Bowl, thanks to you.

:wink2:

There's still time to sign up FredEx! That'll teach the K.C. Chief's a real good lesson.

I couldn't stand him at UCLA. I couldn't stand him at Philly. I'd rather punish the Chiefs with Rowdy than acquire his act.

He's a catfish, all mouth, no brains.

Since we don't face Jimmy Smith this year, Dexter Coakley is one of the few players I can think of that has a chance to make us pay. I'm not worried.

However, I am worried about some players that are still mad because they never got a chance to be Cowboys. Randy Moss still carries a grudge and always saves his best games for the Boys. I wonder if Merriman will defy Schottenheimer's expectations and be ready to play Sunday. While he is only a rookie, he sure seems like he wants to prove something against the Cowboys.

We could face them when we play either the Browns, Jets, Texans in the Super Bowl.
